Business condition attached to the margin of safety Data Center Computing revenue (24% of FY2025 sales, up from 14% in FY2023) keeps growing for at least two more reported quarters, showing the AI-driven build-out is durable rather than a pull-forward, and the two customers that together made up 23% of FY2025 sales do not become a materially larger share without new customers being added alongside them.
TTM Technologies designs and manufactures printed circuit boards (PCBs) and related electro-mechanical assemblies for aerospace and defense, data-center computing/networking, automotive, and medical/industrial customers, from a network of plants in the United States, Canada, China, and (soon) Malaysia. Revenue was $2.9 billion in fiscal 2025, up 19% from 2024. What is driving the business right now is a genuine mix shift. Aerospace and defense, the largest end market at 44% of sales, has grown for two straight years on long-running defense programs. Data-center computing has gone from 14% of sales in 2023 to 24% in 2025, growing 36% in 2025 alone, as customers building out generative-AI infrastructure need more advanced boards. Automotive has shrunk from 16% to 10% of sales over the same period. To keep up with the data-center and defense demand, the company has acquired a facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is building a new advanced-technology plant in Syracuse, New York, and has banked land in Penang, Malaysia for future capacity - all real, currently-in-progress commitments, not aspirations. The flip side of that same growth is concentration: two customers together accounted for 23% of 2025 sales, versus a single customer at 11-13% in the two years before. The company's own filings are candid that these are not long-term supply contracts - a customer can simply order less next quarter. 2023 showed what a demand air-pocket looks like: when customers worked down inventory that year, cash-based owner earnings per share fell to roughly $0.16 from about $1.43 the year before, before recovering to an estimated $0.69 in 2025 as the AI-driven demand arrived. The company also carries about $915 million of debt, including $500 million of notes due 2029 at a fixed 4% rate, and has taken goodwill write-downs in both 2023 and 2024 tied to underperforming units acquired in past deals - a reminder that not every acquisition has paid off. We based our estimate of normal owner earnings on the five years since the business was reshaped by the 2020 sale of its Mobility electronics unit, which lets a genuine up-and-down cycle (the 2023 trough and the subsequent AI-driven recovery) inform the number rather than a single good or bad year. On that basis we estimate the shares are worth roughly $18.60 today in our central case. Our central case assumes growth slows gradually from about 9% next year (below the actual 10% growth achieved in 2025) to the mid-single digits by year five, as the new plants ramp up and the AI buildout matures, and that earning power then holds roughly flat rather than continuing to compound indefinitely - we are not willing to assume the current AI wave keeps compounding forever just because it has compounded for three years. Our downside case assumes a repeat of a 2023-style demand pullback, this time complicated by the fact that some of the new capacity (and its associated depreciation) cannot be un-built, and that one of the two large data-center customers pulls back - putting the shares at around $9.40. Our upside case assumes the three new facilities ramp smoothly, the defense and AI-related growth continues at something close to its recent pace for longer, and puts the shares around $25.50. We treated the acquisition-related amortization and the 2023-2024 goodwill write-downs as non-cash and added them back, as they represent sunk cost from past deals rather than an ongoing cash cost - but we deliberately did not assume the current pace of new-facility construction keeps compounding earnings growth after year ten, given management's own disclosure that customer orders are not locked in by contract. For this to be substantially wrong, either the AI-related data-center demand would need to prove far more durable and program-like than a customer relationship with no minimum-purchase commitment normally is, or the current buildout would need to prove much more short-lived than the last three years of results suggest.

Sales geography
Customers are global electronics OEMs, but end demand is concentrated with U.S.-linked buyers: aerospace & defense sales are predominantly for U.S. and allied government programs, and data-center computing customers are largely U.S. hyperscalers/networking OEMs. Manufacturing is spread across the West (Santa Ana, CA headquarters; Forest Grove, OR), Midwest (Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire, WI), Northeast (Farmingdale, NY; Syracuse, NY; Stafford Springs, CT), South/Mid-Atlantic (Sterling, VA), Canada (Toronto), China (Dongguan), and soon Malaysia (Penang).
