About us

valueequityanalysis.com publishes independent valuations of US-listed companies, one business at a time. Each estimate is built from the company's own SEC filings and asks a simple question: what is this business worth to someone who owns it?

Who writes our research

Every analysis on this site is researched and written by the Value Equity Analysis team.

What we do

For every company we cover, we estimate the cash the business generates for its owners, project it over ten years under three evidence-based scenarios (bear, base and bull), and subtract what the business owes. The result is a range of values per share, plus a margin-of-safety value set below the base case to leave room for error.

Alongside the valuation, each company page shows the year-by-year owner-earnings history with its source filings, where the company makes its sales, how it has grown, how complex it is to understand, and who it competes with. You can search any ticker or browse every company we cover.

Why we built it

Most stock research starts from the share price, or from forecasts that management and analysts publish. We think that gets the order backwards. A share is a fractional claim on a real business, and its value depends on what that business earns over many years, not on this quarter's mood.

So we work the other way round: value the business first, from audited numbers, and only then look at the price. We publish the reasoning as well as the numbers, so you can see what we assumed and decide for yourself whether you agree.

What we stand for

Filings over forecastsEvery figure traces to audited SEC filings. Guidance, "adjusted" earnings and analyst estimates never set a number.
Evidence over hopeGrowth is credited only when it is secured or has a long, proven record. Hoped-for growth is left out.
TransparencyEach analysis explains its assumptions, and what would have to be true for it to be wrong.
Value before priceThe valuation is finished before we look at the share price, so the market's mood can't move it.

The full approach, step by step, is on our methodology page.

Who this is for

Long-term, fundamentals-focused investors who want a disciplined second opinion on what a business is worth, and who want to see how we reached a number rather than take it on trust. This site is a research starting point, not a trading signal.

What we don't cover

We don't publish valuations for China-controlled companies listed in the US, cannabis or cryptocurrency businesses, non-operating shell companies, companies that engage in business we consider immoral, or companies facing serious doubt about continuing to operate or staying listed.

Not investment advice

valueequityanalysis.com publishes general, impersonal analysis of publicly traded companies based on our own methodology. Nothing on this site is personalized investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any security, or an offer or solicitation of any kind. We are not registered investment advisers or broker-dealers, and we do not know your circumstances, goals or risk tolerance. Values shown on this site, including margin-of-safety values, are estimates, not price targets or recommendations.

Our trading

The people behind this site invest their own money and may buy or sell securities of companies analyzed here. We do not buy a security in the five days before we publish or update an analysis of that company, and we do not sell a security in the five days after. We do not disclose individual holdings or trades. You should assume we may have a financial interest in any security discussed.

No compensation from covered companies

Value Equity Analysis does not accept payment of any kind from any company we analyze, or from anyone acting on its behalf, and no analysis on this site is commissioned or paid for.

Estimates, not facts

Valuations are judgment-based estimates that depend on assumptions that may prove wrong. Figures may contain errors. Analyses are updated irregularly, and we have no obligation to update or correct any analysis or to tell you when our views change. Past analysis does not guarantee future results. Market prices shown on the site are checked several times a day, not continuously, and may not be current.

Corrections

We make mistakes sometimes, and we are always happy to fix them. If you think a figure, a filing reference or a conclusion is wrong, please email us with the company and what you found. Where an analysis is corrected, the updated page shows the new analysis date.
