WESCO International is a large-scale distributor of electrical, communications, utility/broadband and data-center supply-chain products, operating through three segments: Electrical & Electronic Solutions, Communications & Security Solutions (which includes a data-center supply chain business), and Utility & Broadband Solutions. The company roughly doubled in size in June 2020 when it acquired Anixter International, financed partly with debt and partly with a new class of preferred stock. We measure the business from that transformation forward: the five full years of combined operations (2021-2025) are what anchor this valuation, with 2016-2020 treated only as background on a smaller, differently financed predecessor company. We build owner earnings from operating cash flow, after removing stock-based compensation, the swings from working-capital timing, ongoing maintenance capital spending, and - specific to WESCO - the preferred stock dividend, since preferred holders are paid before common shareholders. Owner earnings per common share over 2021-2025 ranged from about $9 to $17, with a median (our anchor) of roughly $15.45, from a year in which working capital was a moderate drag. We treat that median as representative because the five-year window captures both a heavy inventory-build year (2022, amid post-pandemic supply-chain hoarding) and a working-capital release year (2024), rather than any single unusual print. An important, favorable, and permanent change: WESCO fully redeemed its Series A Preferred Stock in June 2025 for $540 million, funded by new long-term notes. That retires an approximately $57 million annual claim ahead of common shareholders - a meaningful and durable improvement to per-share owner earnings going forward, offset by higher debt. We have built this into our forward path (rather than the historical anchor level, since only half of 2025 reflects the benefit), while keeping our growth assumptions in that forward path deliberately moderate: this is a low-margin distribution business whose growth is funded mainly through additional inventory and receivables rather than through capital spending, and the last five years show that working-capital investment can be substantial and can persist through good and bad years alike. Our base case assumes mid-single-digit owner-earnings growth over the next decade, reflecting real but moderate benefit from electrification, grid-modernization and data-center buildout demand across the three segments, balanced against WESCO's thin, competitive distribution margins. Our bear case (roughly a one-in-ten outcome) assumes a broader industrial and construction slowdown compresses volumes and pricing for several years, while WESCO's now-larger debt load (increased further by the 2025 preferred redemption) makes the business more sensitive to a downturn; owner earnings per share falls by roughly a third before a slow recovery. Our bull case assumes the electrification and AI-data-center buildout tailwinds run stronger and longer than the base case, with continued margin gains from scale and digital tools, and further debt paydown. Beyond the explicit ten-year forecast, we assign the business a modest ongoing (perpetuity-style) value, since WESCO's distribution relationships, logistics network and IT systems are continuously renewed through the maintenance spending already deducted, rather than a wasting, dated asset. We kept the assumed long-run growth low (well under 2%) specifically because a chunk of today's reported non-cash charges relate to Anixter-related acquired intangibles that will eventually roll off; this portion of value is meaningfully more than half of our total estimate, so it deserves special scrutiny, and a reader should treat it as the part of this valuation resting most on judgment about the durability of WESCO's competitive position rather than on near-term financials. Putting this together, our base-case value is about $384 per share, with a bear case near $215 and a bull case near $490. Given WESCO's meaningfully increased leverage following the 2025 debt-funded preferred redemption, the margin-of-safety price reflects a wider-than-typical margin of safety, at approximately $261 per share. For this to be wrong on the low side, expect a deeper and more prolonged industrial slowdown than our bear case assumes, combined with debt costs eating further into cash available to shareholders; for it to be wrong on the high side, expect the electrification and data-center buildout to prove even more durable than we have assumed. We found no going-concern warning, no material Chinese-ownership, cannabis, cryptocurrency, shell-company or delisting concerns in the filings.
