Atlassian sells collaboration and work-management software on subscription, delivered as Cloud (hosted by Atlassian) or Data Center (term licences customers run themselves). In the year ended June 2026 revenue was $6.57 billion, up 26%. Cloud was $4.41 billion (up 28%) and Data Center $1.83 billion (up 25%). Revenue is spread worldwide: the United States 42%, Germany 11%, the rest of Europe, Middle East and Africa 30%, Asia Pacific 11%. About $4.8 billion of contracted revenue was still to be recognised at year end, roughly 65% of it within twelve months. How we measure earnings. We start from operating cash flow, remove the swings from working capital, and deduct stock compensation as a real cost, plus the capital spending needed to stand still. The working-capital step matters a great deal here. Customers pay ahead, so growth in deferred revenue added $153 million to cash flow in fiscal 2026, $366 million in fiscal 2025, $552 million in fiscal 2024 and $363 million in fiscal 2023. In fiscal 2026 that inflow was more than offset by a $484 million rise in receivables, which we could not fully explain from the filing. We strip all of it out. Stock compensation is the other big item: $1.61 billion in fiscal 2026, or 24% of revenue (27% in fiscal 2023, 25% in 2024, 26% in 2025). The result is thin. Owner earnings per share were about -$0.08 in fiscal 2022, -$1.59 in 2023, -$0.91 in 2024, -$0.77 in 2025 and +$0.40 in fiscal 2026 (about $103 million on 260 million diluted shares). Improvement in each of the last three years is real, but only fiscal 2026 is positive. Fiscal 2026 also carried $203.9 million of severance from two restructurings, including one that cut about 10% of staff, and we did not add that back because the company also restructured in fiscal 2023. We anchor on fiscal 2026 alone because that is the first year after the cost restructuring and the Data Center wind-down announcement; this is a limitation, as one positive year is a short record. Growth check. Owner earnings rose by about $305 million in fiscal 2026 (from a $202 million deficit to $103 million). We assume zero growth in the base case from here, which is below that trailing improvement, and there is no dated, filed reason to expect the improvement to repeat. We do not credit continued revenue growth, margin gains, the AI products or the new acquisitions (The Browser Company and DX, bought for $1.23 billion in fiscal 2026), because none of those has yet produced owner earnings we can point to. Base case, $6.60 per share: owner earnings hold at $0.40 per share indefinitely. What keeps them going is the recurring subscription base, with $4.8 billion of contracts in hand and a record of revenue growth every year we examined. Bear case, $0: stock compensation stays near a quarter of revenue and the improvement in fiscal 2026 proves temporary, so owner earnings slide back to the deficits of fiscal 2024 and 2025. The Data Center business, 28% of revenue, is being ended: new customers stopped in March 2026, sales to existing customers stop in March 2028 and support ends in March 2029, so a portion of that revenue could leave rather than move to Cloud. We put the value at zero rather than below it; the company carries only $1.0 billion of senior notes (5.25% due 2029 and 5.5% due 2034). Bull case, $19.70 per share: the fiscal 2026 severance does not recur (the company said the cash payments were substantially complete by June 30, 2026), which lifts owner earnings to about $307 million, or $1.18 per share, and that level is held indefinitely. We give no credit for the savings the job cuts may bring or for revenue growth. The margin-of-safety price is $2.50. Because results depend on how much stock is handed out, the margin-of-safety price sits well below the base case. What would make us wrong: a sustained cut in stock compensation, or continued 20%-plus revenue growth with stable costs, would make even the bull case too low. Continued increases in stock compensation would make even the base case too high.
