Ralph Lauren is a global lifestyle brand built around the Polo Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren, and related labels, sold through its own retail stores and digital sites, wholesale department and specialty stores, and licensing. Over the past several years the company has pursued a deliberate "elevation" strategy: fewer promotions, higher average selling prices, and a growing share of sales through its own full-price retail and digital channels rather than discounted wholesale. That strategy has visibly worked - gross margin climbed to nearly 70% of sales in the year ended March 2026, and revenue grew a strong 15% (12% excluding currency effects), with growth broad-based across North America, Europe, and Asia. We size the business by the cash it actually generates for its owners after paying for the ordinary cost of staying in business - replacing worn-out stores and systems - excluding optional growth spending on new stores or new markets. We measure that figure over a five-year window (fiscal 2022 through fiscal 2026) that spans one genuinely soft year, fiscal 2023, when Ralph Lauren and the rest of the apparel industry worked down inventory built up during the pandemic, through the current year of strong elevation-strategy execution. The middle of that range - about $10.48 per share - is our starting point, rather than the most recent and strongest year, which we don't think is representative of a typical year going forward. One accounting judgment worth flagging: capital spending jumped sharply this past year, to $408 million from $216 million. The company explained why - a one-time purchase of a piece of real estate, plus new stores and a technology upgrade. We treated that increase as discretionary growth spending rather than ordinary upkeep, since a building purchase is not something the business needs to repeat every year to stay in business; a purely mechanical formula that didn't account for the disclosed one-off nature of that spending would have understated the year's true cash profit meaningfully. The business's core earning power doesn't depend on anything with an expiration date - there is no patent cliff or expiring contract here. The brand is sustained by ordinary, ongoing design and marketing spending that is already counted as a cost in the figures above, so we treat the years beyond our ten-year forecast as a slow-growing, self-renewing stream rather than a wasting asset. Our base case assumes per-share cash profit grows at a mid-single-digit rate over the next few years - below the actual rate posted this past year, which we believe was inflated by a one-time favorable currency swing and the real-estate item noted above - gradually slowing to a low-single-digit pace as the elevation strategy matures and year-over-year comparisons get harder. On that path we estimate the shares are worth around $296 today. Our bear case, roughly a one-in-ten chance of being this bad or worse, assumes the elevation strategy stalls: a renewed round of industry-wide inventory destocking similar to fiscal 2023, combined with a sustained increase in the cost of apparel imported from Asia. Tariff policy is genuinely unsettled - a set of U.S. tariffs was struck down by the Supreme Court in February 2026 and immediately replaced with tariffs imposed under different legal authority, with litigation over refunds and the new tariffs still ongoing - and we assume the company can only partly offset higher import costs with price increases before it hurts sales volume. Under this scenario we estimate the shares are worth around $170. Our bull case assumes the elevation strategy keeps compounding much as it has the last two years: continued gains in average pricing, continued strength in Europe and Asia, and continued share buybacks funded by a healthy balance sheet carrying only modest debt. Under this scenario we estimate the shares are worth around $375. In all three cases, a substantial share of the estimated value - roughly 60-70% - comes from what we expect the business to earn many years from now rather than within the next decade. That is a normal feature of a durable consumer brand with no natural expiration date, but it does mean the estimate leans on judgment about the brand's long-run staying power, and we'd note that as the main source of uncertainty in this valuation beyond the near-term risks above. Given this range, the margin-of-safety price sits meaningfully below our base-case estimate - around $213 - to allow for the risks above, particularly the tariff uncertainty that is still working its way through the courts.

OE = CFO - ΔWC - SBC - maintenance capex. CFO=$1,154.2M; ΔWC=$-158.3M; SBC=$111.0M; capex=$408.1M (up from $216.2M FY2025). Judgment call: MD&A discloses the increase was primarily a one-time strategic purchase of real estate plus store openings/renovations and IT systems enhancement (the $16.8M real-estate deposit on the FY2025 balance sheet cleared to $0 in FY2026, consistent with the purchase closing) - all growth/discretionary in nature, not sustaining capex. Rather than apply the mechanical capex-ratio formula (which would misclassify most of a one-off building purchase as ongoing maintenance spend), maintenance capex is held at the FY2025 run-rate of $216.2M and the full $191.9M increase is treated as growth capex.
