Climb Global Solutions (formerly Wayside Technology Group, and before that Programmer's Paradise) is a specialty information-technology distributor. Through its Climb Channel Solutions segment (about 96% of net sales), it acts as the middleman between software and hardware vendors in areas like cybersecurity, virtualization, cloud, storage and networking, and the resellers, systems integrators and value-added resellers who sell those products on to end customers. A smaller segment, Grey Matter, is itself a cloud-focused value-added reseller. The business is capital-light: it holds relatively little inventory, ships most hardware straight from the vendor to the customer, and spends less than one percent of revenue on capital equipment in a typical year. Its main asset is a network of vendor authorizations and reseller relationships built up since the company's founding in 1982. Over the last decade the company has evolved from a lower-growth, generalist software reseller into a faster-growing specialty distributor, formalized by its rename from Wayside Technology Group to Climb Global Solutions in October 2022. Since then, revenue has grown from $304 million (2022) to $653 million (2025), helped both by strong underlying demand for cybersecurity and cloud/data-infrastructure products and by a series of disciplined, debt-free tuck-in acquisitions that expanded the company into the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada and Germany. The balance sheet is clean: essentially no long-term debt, $37 million of cash, and no history of writing down the modest goodwill on its books from these deals. We measure the cash the business actually generates for owners by starting from operating cash flow and removing the swings caused by the timing of accounts receivable, inventory and payables (which are large and lumpy in a business that finances big vendor and customer bills), the non-cash cost of stock-based compensation, and the portion of capital spending needed just to keep the business running as it is (as opposed to spending tied to growth). On that basis, owner earnings per share (adjusted for a stock split that appears to have occurred as a 4-for-1 split sometime between the FY2025 annual report, filed in February 2026, and the quarterly report filed in July 2026) were $0.65 in 2022, $0.61 in 2023, $1.19 in 2024 and $1.61 in 2025. We anchor our valuation on the median of the four years since the company's rebrand and strategic shift, about $0.92 per share, rather than on the strong recent two years alone, since two years of a specialty-distribution business benefiting from an industry-wide infrastructure spending boom is not yet enough of a track record to treat as the new normal, though it does inform how we expect the business to grow from here. Our base case assumes owner earnings continue growing at a healthy but steadily decelerating pace - roughly 15% annually over the next two years, tapering down to mid-single digits by year ten - reflecting continued (but slowing) benefit from the cybersecurity and cloud-infrastructure buildout plus further bolt-on acquisitions, moderating as the revenue base gets larger and competition for the same specialty vendor lines increases. Beyond the ten-year forecast, we assume the core distribution relationships - which require little capital to maintain and have already proven durable for decades - continue to generate cash roughly in line with overall IT spending growth, a modest 1% a year, rather than assuming the recent acquisition-fueled acceleration continues indefinitely. That '11th year and beyond' view is worth noting because it makes up roughly two-thirds of the total value we calculate - a common feature of asset-light, long-lived distribution businesses, but one that means the base case leans heavily on Climb's relationships with its vendors and resellers remaining intact and its capital-light model persisting, not on any single near-term forecast. Our bear case reflects the company's biggest disclosed vulnerability: customer concentration. In 2025 its two largest customers made up 37% of net sales and its top five made up 55%. Vendor agreements are also non-exclusive and cancellable on short notice. In this case, we assume the loss of a significant customer relationship or a normalization of the recent infrastructure-spending surge causes owner earnings to fall roughly 15% in the first year and drift lower before stabilizing, growing only slowly and without further acquisition-led lift, essentially a mature, no-longer-compounding version of the business. Because there is no debt to amplify the damage, this case still produces a solidly positive value, around $13 per share, rather than a value near or below zero. Our bull case assumes the secular tailwind in cybersecurity and cloud/AI infrastructure spending persists longer than the market currently expects, that vendors increasingly prefer to route specialty products through expert distributors like Climb rather than sell direct, and that management continues to find and integrate accretive, debt-free acquisitions as it has to date. In this case owner earnings keep compounding at a rate closer to what we saw in 2024-2025 for several more years before gradually slowing, producing a value of roughly $56 per share. Putting these together, we get a bear case of about $13 per share, a base case of about $35, and a bull case of about $56. Given how much of the outcome depends on customer concentration and on whether the recent acquisition-and-demand-driven acceleration proves durable, the margin-of-safety price sits meaningfully below our estimate of fair value, around $20 per share, to compensate for that uncertainty and leave room for error. A few judgment calls are worth flagging. First, the company's revenue accounting changed materially around 2018 when many contracts moved from gross to net presentation under new accounting rules; we used the restated, net-revenue basis throughout for consistency. Second, we treated spending on acquisitions as a capital-allocation decision separate from the cost of maintaining the existing business, consistent with how the cash was actually used, rather than as an ongoing operating cost. Third, share counts for all prior years were adjusted for what the data indicates was a 4-for-1 stock split completed sometime in the first half of 2026; we could not find the company's own announcement of this split in the filings available to us, so this adjustment rests on a comparison of share counts reported before and after that period, not on a company disclosure we could directly cite - worth confirming against the company's own investor communications.
