RF Industries (RFIL) makes coaxial and fiber interconnect parts, custom cable assemblies and integrated systems (small-cell enclosures and direct-air cooling units) for wireless carriers, data-center and enterprise customers and aerospace and defense contractors. It is a small business (about $80 million of sales in fiscal 2025, October year end) built largely through acquisitions, the latest being Microlab in fiscal 2022 for about $24.4 million. WHAT THE CASH ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE. We measure the cash the business leaves for its owners: operating cash flow, with the swings in receivables, inventory and payables stripped out, less stock compensation, less the capital spending needed to stay in business. On that basis it came to roughly $0.36 per share in fiscal 2019, about zero in 2020, $0.45 in 2021, -$0.06 in 2022, -$0.36 in 2023, -$0.19 in 2024 and $0.25 in fiscal 2025. Four of those seven years were at or below zero. Reported net income was distorted along the way: fiscal 2021 included a $2.8 million non-cash gain from forgiveness of a pandemic loan, and fiscal 2024's $6.6 million loss included a $2.7 million non-cash tax charge. Fiscal 2022 and 2023 carried unusually heavy capital spending ($2.7 million and $2.5 million against about $0.2 to $0.7 million in other years). Pre-2019 years are not used because the fiscal 2017 and 2018 cash flows blend continuing and divested operations. Each year's figure is restated to this consistent basis, so earlier published figures are not comparable. THE RECENT TURN. Fiscal 2025 sales rose 24% to $80.6 million. Integrated systems grew 41% to $29.6 million on small-cell and thermal-cooling orders from tier-one customers, custom cabling grew 45% to $26.1 million on aerospace demand, while traditional interconnect fell 3.5% to $25.0 million. Gross margin improved from 29.1% to 33.2% on that mix. The newest quarter confirms the direction: sales for the quarter ended July 31, 2026 were $24.0 million, up 21% from a year earlier, quarterly net income was $1.4 million versus $0.4 million, and for the nine months net income was $2.3 million against a small loss a year earlier. About $2.1 million of the credit-line balance was repaid during those nine months. Orders are short-cycle and backlog was $15.5 million at October 31, 2025 (down from $19.5 million a year earlier), so the filings give little visibility beyond a few months. HOW WE SET THE LEVEL. Cash flow before lender payments (the cash that services both owners and lenders) was about $3.6 million in fiscal 2025, or $0.28 per share on today's 11.6 million shares after we replace the very low fiscal 2025 capital spending ($0.2 million, partly treated as growth spending) with a more typical $0.4 million. We start from that single post-turn year rather than the seven-year median, which is close to zero, because the mix and margin shift behind it has now held for five straight profitable quarters; we do not lift the level to the nine-month run rate (about $0.49 per share) until the full fiscal 2026 year is reported. Growth: last year's owner earnings moved from a $2.0 million loss to a $2.7 million profit, which is not a meaningful growth rate; the base case assumes none. The company adds back about $1.6 million a year of non-cash amortization of acquired customer relationships and other intangibles ($8.1 million of goodwill also sits on the balance sheet). Those add-backs are correct as sunk acquisition cost, but they mean acquired relationships are a wasting asset, so we credit no growth in any case and let earnings fade after year ten rather than assuming they last forever. Share count has also crept up from 10.2 million to 11.6 million in three years; stock compensation is deducted as a real cost. WHAT THE COMPANY OWES. The company has a secured revolving credit facility with Eclipse Business Capital: $7.8 million drawn at October 31, 2025, extended in November 2025 to mature March 15, 2029, with a $4.0 million minimum outstanding balance, a $2.5 million annual capital-spending cap, and a fixed-charge-coverage test (1.10x) that applies only if available borrowing capacity falls below the greater of $1.0 million or 10% of the borrowing base. We estimate about $5.7 million is outstanding now (the exact July 2026 balance is not separately reported in the data we could access; this is the October figure less repayments shown in the cash-flow statement). Cash is $4.5 million, of which we treat $2.0 million as needed to run the business, leaving about $2.5 million excess, so net borrowings are about $3.2 million, or $0.28 per share. Interest and fees cost about $0.9 million in fiscal 2025, well above the cost of a plain loan, so the base case adds about $0.25 million to the debt figure and the bear case about $0.8 million for refinancing in 2029 on worse terms. Operating leases of about $17 million are already paid for inside operating cash flow and are not deducted again. BEAR CASE: $0.07 per share. The fiscal 2023-24 episode, when carrier and small-cell spending stalled, sales fell from $85 million to $65 million and gross margin dropped to 29%, repeats. Cash flow before lenders is -$0.21 per share (about -$2.4 million) in year one, -$0.11 in year two, break-even in year three, then a permanently lower $0.12 per share ($1.4 million) in years four to ten, fading to zero over five more years. For two years the business does not cover its roughly $0.6 million annual interest; cash on hand and the receivables- and inventory-backed credit line absorb that. The business is worth about $4.9 million, it owes about $4.0 million including the costlier refinancing, leaving about $0.9 million, or $0.07 per share. Because the 2029 maturity falls inside this downturn, a lender unwilling to refinance would leave shareholders with little or nothing. BASE CASE: $1.88 per share. $0.28 per share ($3.2 million) a year for years one to three, a mild soft patch in years four and five (-$0.05, between the 2020 and 2024 outcomes), back to $0.28 in years six to ten, then fading to zero over ten more years. The business is worth about $25.3 million, it owes about $3.5 million, leaving about $21.8 million, or $1.88 per share. Credited: only the present level, which the business has just demonstrated for a full year. Left out: further growth from aerospace and small-cell/cooling (no contracts disclosed, short-cycle orders), more acquisitions (five deals so far, lumpy and funded with debt), and further margin gains. BULL CASE: $4.42 per share. The current run rate holds: $0.49 per share ($5.7 million) a year for ten years with no downturn, fading to zero over ten more years. The business is worth about $54.5 million, it owes about $3.25 million, leaving about $51.3 million, or $4.42 per share. This needs the 35% gross margin and roughly $85 million of annual sales to persist, which the last three quarters support but a single completed year has not yet proven. CHANGE SINCE THE LAST ANALYSIS. Quarterly results released in September were clearly better (sales up 21%, net income of $1.4 million) and debt is lower. Values are lower than the September figures because the earlier work credited steady growth and a higher normalized level that our review of the filings does not support as secured, and its figures were built on a different basis and are not comparable. WHAT COULD MAKE THIS WRONG. Customer concentration in a few wireless carriers and one aerospace customer; new tariffs on imports from China and Mexico, which the company says it may not be able to pass through (it states tariffs could lower gross margin); orders that are short-cycle; and a gross margin that depends on the current mix of cooling and small-cell enclosures. The thin evidence of the improvement is only five quarters old. MARGIN-OF-SAFETY PRICE: $0.85. We are moderately, not highly, sure of the earnings level: it rests on one strong year and three strong quarters after three years where cash flow was negative, and four of the last seven years were at or below zero. The worst plausible outcome, a repeat of 2023-24 on top of tariff pressure and a tight refinancing in 2029, would leave the equity worth close to nothing, but the structure would survive it: borrowings of about $5.7 million are covered several times by about $30 million of receivables and inventory, covenants only bite if borrowing capacity nearly disappears, and current assets exceed current liabilities by about $18 million, roughly $1.60 per share. If we are wrong about margin staying near 33% and volume near $80 million, the shares are worth about what the bear case says; if we are wrong that a downturn comes only in years four and five, the base value falls proportionately. The price assumes a holding period of about five years; the company pays no dividend, so any return comes from retained cash flow paying down debt and building value, which at the base case could lift the per-share value from $1.88 to about $2.50 in five years. From $0.85 the base case implies about 24% a year, and the price also sits well under net current assets, which is the cushion against the bear outcome. The price is set no higher because a 20% annual target has to survive a wide spread of outcomes in a business that has had three negative cash-flow years since 2022.

Sales geography
United States, all regions (Northeast, Midwest, West and South), sold largely to tier-one wireless carriers, data-center and enterprise customers and aerospace and defense contractors; about 8% of net sales to customers outside the United States
Historical growth strategy
Acquisition roll-up of small interconnect, custom-cabling and RF-component makers, most recently Microlab (fiscal 2022, about $24.4 million), paid for from cash and bank debt, combined with organic expansion of integrated systems (small-cell enclosures and cooling) and aerospace cabling; non-core businesses have been sold when they stopped fitting.
Chart analysis
A chartist would see a sharp, momentum-driven reversal in the most recent window: the shares ran to a high near $13.70 in early August 2026, then fell more than 40% in under two months to a low near $7.81 on September 29, 2026, closing September just above that low. The slide broke through the early-September trading range and leaves a lower-high, lower-low sequence, so the trend reads as down until the stock can reclaim the $9 to $10 zone, which now acts as overhead resistance. The $7.80 area is the first support to watch; a close below it would open the way to the lower levels of the prior base, while a base of several weeks at or above it would be the first sign the decline is ending. Only about two months of price history was available to this reading, so no judgement is offered about longer-term support or the multi-year pattern.
