Ring Energy is an independent oil and gas producer whose properties are almost entirely in the Permian Basin of Texas, on the Central Basin Platform and the Northwest Shelf. It operates about 99% of its wells. At year-end 2025 it had proved reserves of 153.3 million barrels of oil equivalent (59% oil), and it produced about 20,250 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2025. That is roughly 20 years of production at the current rate. The company makes money by selling what it pumps at market prices, so revenue and profit follow oil prices, and it must keep drilling just to hold production flat. How we measure earnings. We start from operating cash flow. We then remove working-capital swings, subtract stock compensation as a real cost, and subtract only the drilling spending needed to sustain the business. Non-cash charges, such as depletion and the $108.8 million write-down of oil and gas properties in 2025, are already excluded from cash flow, so they do not distort the result. In 2025 the company reported a net loss of $34.7 million. Cash flow was still $150.8 million, and the numbers tie out line by line. On this basis, owner earnings per share were $0.198 in 2023, $0.181 in 2024 and $0.224 in 2025. We used those three years as the starting level, with a median of about $0.198 per share. They are the years after the 2022 to 2023 acquisitions (Stronghold and Founders) roughly doubled the share count and reshaped the asset base. We left out 2022 ($0.62 per share) because it combined peak oil prices with a one-time acquisition-driven jump in revenue. Earlier years describe a much smaller company that was still building its position, and they show negative owner earnings because heavy drilling outran cash flow. Growth. Owner earnings grew about 24% in 2025 (from $0.181 to $0.224), helped by drilling spending falling from $154 million to $95 million. We assume no growth in any case. Ring's history is one of acquiring producing properties and then drilling them, and neither acquisitions nor a higher oil price are locked in. We only credit what the assets already in hand can sustain. Proved reserves rose 14% in 2025 and the company is spending to convert its undeveloped reserves, which make up 32% of the total, but that spending is already deducted. Base case, $2.38 per share. Owner earnings stay at about $0.198 per share for 20 years, matching the reserve life. They then fade to zero over about four more years as the reserves run out. Nothing beyond the existing reserves is credited, because new discoveries or acquisitions cannot be named and evidenced today. The stream is discounted at 6%. Bear case, $1.68 per share. Owner earnings stay at the weakest recent level, $0.18, but the well-developed reserves carry the company only about 14 years, which is the share of production that comes from already-drilled wells (68% of reserves). Nothing is assumed after that. The bear case also reflects leverage. Ring had $420 million drawn on a $585 million credit line at year-end 2025. The line is redetermined twice a year, matures in June 2029, and carries interest of 2.75% to 3.75% over the benchmark rate. Falling prices could shrink the borrowing base and force debt repayment out of cash flow. Bull case, $2.95 per share. Owner earnings hold at 2025's $0.224 for 25 years as undeveloped locations are drilled from the company's own cash flow, then fade over four years. The first half of 2026 gives some support. Revenue was $178.4 million against $161.7 million a year earlier, and operating cash flow was $66.7 million against $61.7 million. Drilling spending also rose to $72.4 million from $49.3 million, which leaves owner earnings roughly unchanged. We did not credit any oil-price windfall, because price is not something we can name a cause for. Cross-check and what could make this wrong. At year-end 2025 the company's reserve report put the reserves at a pre-tax present value of $1.318 billion ($1.124 billion after tax). Our base case implies total enterprise value of roughly $0.9 billion, counting the $420 million of debt, which sits below both figures. The reserve report uses trailing average prices and has to be tested each year. In the first quarter of 2026 the company recorded a further $162 million non-cash write-down of its properties, which shows how sensitive reported book values are to pricing rules. It did not change our earnings level, because it is non-cash. Sustained lower oil prices would cut owner earnings below the bear case, drilling costs could rise, and production declines could be steeper than the reserve report assumes. Share dilution continues at about 2% a year, and we did not model it separately. Debt is a fixed claim ahead of shareholders, so equity value swings widely with price. Because the business is a leveraged, price-taking commodity producer, the margin-of-safety price carries a large discount. The margin-of-safety price is $1.19 per share, about half of our base value; from that price the base case implies roughly 20% a year.
