Interparfums makes and sells prestige fragrances, mostly under long-term licences from fashion and luxury houses. Its largest brands in 2025 were Jimmy Choo (17% of sales), Coach (15%), Montblanc (15%), GUESS (12%), Donna Karan/DKNY (7%), Lacoste (7%) and Ferragamo (4%). Production is outsourced, so the business needs little plant. Its real reinvestment is the upfront fees paid to win or renew licences, plus brand purchases: Lanvin, Rochas, Off-White and Goutal Paris in March 2025. About 68% of sales come through Interparfums SA, a Paris-listed subsidiary that the company owns 72% of. Roughly a fifth of group profit therefore belongs to outside shareholders of that subsidiary. All of our figures count only the parent's share. How we measured earnings. We start from operating cash flow and remove working-capital swings. The company built about $172 million of inventory in 2022-23 and released $55 million in 2025, and none of that reflects earning power. We subtract stock compensation and treat licence entry fees and brand purchases as an ongoing cost of staying in business, the same as equipment spending. The one exception is the $136 million purchase and renovation of the Paris headquarters in 2021, a one-off property purchase rather than a recurring cost. On this basis, parent owner earnings were $1.22 a share in 2016, $1.86 in 2019, $1.25 in 2020 (pandemic), $3.07 in 2021, $2.19 in 2022, $3.89 in 2023, $5.31 in 2024 and $4.53 in 2025. Adding back interest paid gives the business's cash before lenders, about $4.07, $5.54 and $4.73 for 2023-2025. Sales passed $1.3 billion in 2023 with the current brand roster, so we judge 2023-2025 the right window and anchor at about $4.70 a share. 2025 fell 15% from 2024, mainly because Interparfums SA bought further Paris property ($24 million) and paid $24 million for licences and the Goutal rights. Those outlays dropped to $2.4 million and $2.7 million in the first half of 2026. First-half 2026 sales rose 2% and parent net income was flat at $73.9 million, so we expect 2026 near $4.54 rather than a further fall. The balance sheet holds net cash. At December 2025 the group had $295 million of cash and short-term investments against $185 million of bank debt, mostly low-rate euro loans at Interparfums SA. Short-term investments fell to $42 million by June 2026 as the company kept paying about $103 million a year in dividends. After allowing for operating cash, we credit the parent with about $1 a share of surplus cash. No case is constrained by debt. Base case ($81): Earnings rise about 3% a year to 2030. That rate is below the business's own record and is supported by licences already signed: Lacoste to 2038, GUESS renewed to 2048, Coach renewed to 2031, Longchamp from 2027, David Beckham by 2028, Nautica by 2030, and Goutal and Off-White brought in-house from January 2026. Montblanc expires in December 2030 and Jimmy Choo in December 2031, together almost a third of sales. The company has renewed most major licences for twenty years, but not all (it lost Burberry in 2012). So the base case assumes one of these is lost or renewed on worse terms, cutting earnings by about 8% in 2031. Growth then slows to 2% and then 1% a year, matching the company's long record of replacing lapsed brands with new ones, which we treat as a proven, repeatable process. We hold earnings level from 2046 and fade them to zero over 2056-2065, because a licence portfolio has no permanent claim beyond what it can keep renewing. That works out to about $80 for the business plus $1 of cash. Bear case ($42): A downturn like 2020, when sales fell 24% and parent owner earnings fell about a third, hits in 2027 and takes two years to recover. Then both Montblanc (2030) and Jimmy Choo (2031) are lost with no comparable replacement, cutting earnings by about 30% from 2031. Earnings stay at that lower level for ten years and fade to zero by 2050. What persists is the owned brands (Lanvin, Rochas, Off-White, Goutal, Solferino), which we value at roughly 12% of today's earnings. That works out to about $41 for the business plus $1 of cash. Bull case ($132): The signed new licences ramp as they did with Coach and Lacoste, and the large licences renew. Earnings grow 7% a year to 2030, 5% a year to 2035 and 2% a year for a further decade, then hold. This is the company's demonstrated 2016-2025 pace slowed down, not a new market. We did not credit any unannounced licence or acquisition. The largest risk sits in the contracts, not in the balance sheet. A handful of licences carry the business, and the owners of Jimmy Choo (Capri) and Montblanc (Richemont) could take fragrances in-house or to a rival at expiry. On the other side, Lanvin's former owner may buy back the Lanvin trademarks on July 1, 2027 for EUR 70 million, which would bring in cash but remove a brand. Margin-of-safety price $40. We are fairly confident of the earnings level: four of the last five years fall between $3.89 and $5.31 once working-capital swings are removed, and the company has net cash. The worst plausible outcome is a recession plus losing both Montblanc and Jimmy Choo in 2030-31, which is our bear case at about $42. A worse outcome would require losing several of the newer licences as well, and the contracts filed show no sign of that. If we are wrong about the base renewal rate and the speed of recovery from a downturn, value lands somewhere between $42 and $81, and the most likely miss is toward $55-60. At $40 the current dividend of about $3.20 a share is roughly 8% a year of that price. From that price, a move toward that $55-60 range over two to three years implies about 20% a year with dividends. In the bear case the shares would be worth about the margin-of-safety price while the dividend accumulates. Above $40, a 20% annual return would depend on the base case playing out, and given how concentrated the licences are, our estimate does not rely on that. Our previous estimates were made on a different measurement basis and are not comparable to these figures. The business itself has changed little since then: first-half 2026 results were flat, and the new Nautica, David Beckham and GUESS agreements were already signed.

Sales geography
Worldwide. United States about 36% of 2025 sales ($532 million of $1.49 billion), spread across the Northeast, South, Midwest and West through department stores such as Macy's (about 10% of sales) and specialty retailers; France about 5%; the rest across Western Europe (United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain), Eastern Europe, the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia), Asia (China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Singapore), Central and South America (Brazil, Mexico) and global travel retail, in over 120 countries.
Historical growth strategy
Signs long-term licences for fragrances under fashion and luxury brands (Jimmy Choo, Coach, Montblanc, GUESS, Lacoste, Donna Karan/DKNY, Ferragamo), develops and launches scents through outside manufacturers, then renews or extends those licences, often paying upfront entry fees. It adds new licences every year or two (Lacoste 2024, Longchamp 2025, Nautica and David Beckham 2026) and increasingly buys brands outright (Lanvin, Rochas, Off-White, Goutal) or creates its own (Solferino) to reduce renewal risk. Growth is funded from internal cash while paying out most earnings as dividends.
Chart analysis
A chartist would see a long secular uptrend from roughly $20 in 2014 to an all-time high near $150 in mid-2024, followed by a sustained downtrend of lower highs and lower lows through 2025 into 2026 that took the shares back toward the $80-$100 zone, around the 2021-2022 breakout area. The stock trades below its falling 200-day moving average, so the primary trend is down; the former breakout zone near $80 is the key support to watch, and a recovery above the declining 200-day average would be needed before calling a base complete.
