Accenture is the world's largest professional-services and IT consulting firm, roughly $70 billion of annual revenue (fiscal 2025) from technology implementation, cloud and data work, managed operations outsourcing and strategy consulting for large corporations and governments. Its earning power rests on long client relationships, scale, and a large trained workforce it can redeploy, and on the fact that clients keep spending on technology through downturns: revenue has grown every year of the last decade, including the 2020 pandemic year. How we measure earnings. We start from cash generated by operations, remove the swing caused by timing in receivables, payables and accrued payroll, and then deduct stock-based compensation (about $2.1 billion in fiscal 2025, a genuine cost even though it is not paid in cash) and the part of capital spending needed to keep the business running (about $0.5 billion; Accenture is not capital-intensive). On that basis per-share owner earnings rose from about $5.35 in fiscal 2016 to $15.64 in fiscal 2025, and were $10.98, $12.57, $12.99, $13.90 and $15.64 in fiscal 2021 through 2025. Because fiscal 2024 and 2025 were both flattered by stripping out large working-capital outflows and by share buybacks, and fiscal 2021-22 by a pandemic-era demand surge and acquisition step-up, we anchor on the fiscal 2023-2025 median of $13.90 a share rather than the latest figure. Fiscal 2025 grew about 12.5%; we assume only 4% in year one because we cannot name a signed backlog or contract that supports a faster pace. Cash restructuring costs (severance of $615 million in fiscal 2025, $438 million in fiscal 2024) are already inside cash flow, and we treat them as a recurring cost of running a people business rather than adding them back. Acquired-intangible amortisation is modest relative to earnings, so it does not distort the picture. Everything is discounted at a flat 6%. Base case, about $280 a share. Owner earnings grow 4% a year for five years and 3% for the next five. That growth is credited because it comes from mechanisms Accenture has run for many years, through downturns and out of its own cash: steady revenue growth of roughly 8% a year over fiscal 2016-2025 and a continuing programme of small tuck-in acquisitions (dozens each year), plus a share count that has shrunk from about 668 million to about 632 million diluted shares. We give credit at well under the demonstrated rate. After year ten we assume earning power erodes about 1% a year, reflecting that technology-services skills and client demand keep being renewed by the same hiring, training and client-relationship engine, but that we cannot name what secures growth beyond that. We leave out margin expansion, market share gains, and any specific benefit from generative AI work, because none is yet evidenced in a contract or in a multi-year record. Bear case, about $131 a share. Starting from the lower fiscal 2021-2025 median of $12.99, owner earnings decline 3% a year for a decade and then 5% a year. The named pressures are in the filings: the company discloses reduced spending and contract reviews by the U.S. federal government affecting Accenture Federal Services (procurement delays tied to government-efficiency efforts), repeated restructuring in three straight years (fiscal 2023, 2024 and 2025), and pricing pressure in traditional IT and outsourcing work as automation reduces billable hours. Bull case, about $374 a share. Owner earnings grow 7% a year for five years and 5% for five more, close to the revenue growth Accenture has actually delivered over the past decade, with tuck-in acquisitions continuing at their usual pace, and then hold flat. It does not assume any new product or market recovery. What would make this wrong. If clients' move to AI-built and AI-run software permanently shrinks the hours Accenture bills, faster than it can reprice the work, the bear case becomes the likely one. Conversely, if the fiscal 2025-2026 jump in cash flow proves to be a durable improvement rather than timing (nine-month fiscal 2026 operating cash flow was $9.3 billion versus $7.6 billion a year earlier), our anchor is too low. Owner earnings for the ten-year history were assembled from individual cash-flow lines; small differences from the reported net-income-based reconciliation (about 1-2% of earnings) could not be separately explained.
