Star Gold Corp. (SRGZ) stock intrinsic value fair value estimate & owner earnings analysis

Margin of safety$0.00 ComplexityAverage Updated
Business condition attached to the margin of safety The company obtains a major mine permit (approved Plan of Operations / Record of Decision) for Longstreet and shows a funded, evidence-based path to production with defined reserves.
Star Gold Corp. is a pre-revenue gold and silver exploration company. Its only significant asset is the Longstreet Property in Nevada: 142 mineral claims covering about 2,500 acres, held under an agreement with royalties owed to Great Basin Resources and a related claim holder. The company reports no mineral reserves. Its own filing says that no commercially viable deposit is assured and that further exploration is required. It has not drilled since 2015. Recent work is environmental, hydrology and permitting studies aimed at an eventual mine Plan of Operations and Environmental Impact Statement for an open pit, heap leach mine. It has no revenue, no contracts, no permits to build a mine and no production capacity under construction. Our valuation method credits only cash generation that is already evidenced. Cash flow from operations has been negative every year we can measure: roughly $(0.15) to $(0.28) million a year from fiscal 2022 to 2025, then $(0.93) million in the year to April 30, 2026. The first quarter of fiscal 2027 (to July 31, 2026) was $(0.64) million. Owner earnings per share are negative in every year, about $(0.002) to $(0.009). Working capital movements and non-cash stock compensation were removed. The small mineral-claim payment ($12,000) was treated as capital spending. Bear, base and bull cases are all valued at $0 per share. There is no named, evidenced source of future owner earnings. Potential mining economics, a future permit, higher gold prices or a resource estimate are hopes, not things the business has done or has secured. We therefore give them no value in any case. We did not add the company's cash. It held about $1.9 million at April 30, 2026, and it is being spent on studies faster than any asset is being created. Share count has also risen sharply, from about 97 million to nearly 196 million weighted shares in the latest quarter, which dilutes any residual value further. Financing risk. In earlier filings, including the audit report on the year to April 30, 2025, the auditors expressed substantial doubt about the company's ability to continue. For the year to April 30, 2026, management concluded that this doubt was alleviated after it raised about $3.0 million of equity and extinguished about $0.67 million of notes. It reports no debt. At the current spending pace the cash would last roughly two years, and further equity raises are likely. What would make this wrong: a granted mine permit and a defined, economic reserve at Longstreet would create a real asset. Until then the shares represent an option on exploration success, not an earning business. The margin-of-safety price is $0 until that point, when the company would need to be re-valued. Note: the company files on an April fiscal year-end. Data for the year to April 30, 2026 comes from the 10-K filed July 22, 2026. The quarter ended July 31, 2026 comes from the 10-Q filed September 14, 2026.
