Silo Pharma, Inc. (SILO) stock intrinsic value fair value estimate & owner earnings analysis

Margin of safety$0.00 ComplexityAverage Updated
Business condition attached to the margin of safety A repeatable cash-generating stream, for example license, milestone or royalty payments received in cash that cover the company's annual cash operating costs (about $4.7 million of operating cash burn in 2025).
Silo Pharma is a very small, pre-revenue drug developer. It licenses early-stage research, for example from the University of Maryland, Baltimore (a psychedelic-related master license) and Columbia University, and holds a license to Medspray's nasal spray technology (5% royalty on net sales). It has no approved product. Its only revenue is about $72,000 a year of license fees, the slow recognition of an upfront payment from a single licensee, Aikido, that is spread over 15 years and was collected in 2021. That revenue was 100% from one licensee in both 2024 and 2025. What the business earns. On an owner-earnings basis (operating cash flow less working-capital swings, less stock compensation, less capital spending) the company has lost money in every year we could measure, 2020 through 2025: roughly $2.1 million in 2020, $3.6 million in 2021, $3.9 million in 2022, $4.3 million in 2023, $5.4 million in 2024 and $3.9 million in 2025. Per share that is between about $(1.40) and $(1.85) in each of 2020-2024 and about $(0.47) in 2025. The 2025 improvement per share is mostly a larger share count after new share and warrant issuance, not lower spending: 2025 operating cash burn was $4.66 million, the highest in the period. Capital spending is negligible. The median of the six years is about $(1.54) per share, and nothing in the filings suggests the level is about to change. Base case. We credit growth only where it is contracted or proven, and nothing here qualifies. The one contracted revenue stream is the $72,000 a year of fee amortization, which is non-cash and immaterial to costs of about $4 million or more. The first-year growth assumption is zero, against a trailing owner-earnings change that is not a real trend. Nothing named and evidenced turns the operating stream positive, so the business's own earning power is valued at zero. Because the company has no borrowings to repay, we do not assign a negative value. The cash raised from shareholders funds losses rather than adding value beyond the losses, and we do not add cash or investments to the value. Bear case. Cash of $4.75 million plus $2.11 million of short-term investments at December 31, 2025 covers roughly a year and a half of the 2025 burn rate. If no license or partnership brings in cash, the company must issue more shares (as it did in October 2025) at a dilutive price or wind down, so the value to today's shareholders is zero. Bull case. Nothing in the filings puts a dollar figure on the licensed programs: there are no milestone payments that are due, no royalty-bearing sales and no clinical result in hand. A successful licensing deal or trial result would matter greatly, but it is a hope rather than something in place today, so it is not valued. All three cases are therefore $0 per share, which reflects a lack of evidenced earning power, not a statement that the shares could never trade higher. Accounting points. The company itself states that positive working capital of $6.74 million mitigates conditions that historically raised doubt about its ability to continue, and that it expects to meet obligations for at least twelve months from the filing date. Owner earnings are computed from reported operating cash flow. Per-share figures use share counts as reported in each filing; the company has done a 1-for-50 reverse split, and cover-page share counts fall from about 14.2 million (March 2026) to about 1.6 million (August 2026), which suggests a further reverse split that is not reflected in the per-share history above. Listing status. The company received a Nasdaq notice in 2025 that its share price was below the $1.00 minimum, and was given until June 22, 2026 to fix it, with a reverse split named as the intended cure. The latest full annual report on file is for 2025 (filed March 2026); we could not read the text of the August 2026 quarterly report, so we could not confirm the outcome directly. What would make this wrong. A cash license, milestone or sublicense payment large enough to cover costs of about $4 to $5 million a year, or a successful trial that a larger partner pays for, would give the shares real value. Neither is contracted today.
