Crocs, Inc. sells casual footwear under two brands. The Crocs brand, built around its molded clog, brought in $3,325.8 million of 2025's $4,040.6 million revenue. HEYDUDE, a casual shoe brand bought in 2022 for about $2.05 billion in cash, net of the cash it came with, brought in the other $714.8 million. The Crocs brand does most of the earning: in 2025 it made about $1.11 billion of segment operating income, while HEYDUDE made about $68 million before write-downs, down from $212 million in 2023. Products are made by third-party factories, mainly in Vietnam, China, Indonesia, India and Cambodia. About 56% of sales are in the United States, and no other single country is 10% of revenue. What the business earns. We measure owner earnings: operating cash flow, less stock-based pay, less the capital spending needed to keep the business where it is, with swings in inventory, receivables and payables taken out. Per share, owner earnings were $9.31 in 2022, $10.81 in 2023, $13.85 in 2024 and $12.24 in 2025. We start from the median of the four years since the HEYDUDE purchase, about $11.52 a share. Years before 2022 describe a smaller, different company. In 2025 Crocs reported a net loss of $81.2 million because it wrote down the HEYDUDE trademark by $430 million and HEYDUDE goodwill by $307 million. Those write-downs cost no cash and are added back. The shrinking of HEYDUDE is instead built into the growth assumptions below. Two accounting calls matter. First, taxes. Crocs has moved intellectual property between its own subsidiaries several times (2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024). That created large non-cash tax entries and a reserve for disputed tax positions of $642.2 million at the end of 2025. We charged the business for the tax it actually paid ($176.6 million in 2023, $122.7 million in 2024 and $185.1 million in 2025) and ignored the accounting accruals. Second, store and office rent is treated as a real operating cost. Recent results. Owner earnings per share fell 11.6% in 2025, and in total (ignoring buybacks) they fell about 20%. That is because HEYDUDE revenue fell 13.3%, and Crocs-brand sales in North America fell 6.8% while international Crocs sales grew 11.9%. In the first half of 2026, revenue was $2,100.9 million, against $2,086.7 million a year earlier. Gross profit slipped from $1,250.4 million to $1,223.7 million with new US tariffs of about 20% now applying to imports from Vietnam and China. Because buybacks cut the diluted share count from 55.9 million to 50.2 million, pre-tax profit per share before write-downs was roughly flat. We value the business on today's roughly 49.6 million diluted shares and give no extra credit for future buybacks. Base case: $164.27 per share. Owner earnings start at $11.52 a share, about 6% below 2025. That is a smaller drop than 2025's, because the first half of 2026 showed per-share earnings holding level. After that they grow about 2% a year through year 10. Continued international growth of the Crocs brand, which rose from $1,235 million in 2023 to $1,616 million in 2025, offsets a slowly shrinking North American business and a HEYDUDE brand that stays small. Tariffs are partly passed on through the price increases the company has disclosed. Earnings then stay level for another ten years, carried by a brand that sold 129 million pairs in 2025 while the company earned a 58% gross margin, and fade to zero over the ten years after that. Beyond that point we can point to nothing that would keep the business earning. Bear case: $61.77 per share. The Crocs brand goes out of fashion again. The company's own record shows this can happen: from 2015 to 2017 revenue sat near $1.0 to $1.1 billion, with net losses in 2015 and 2016. HEYDUDE's 25% revenue drop from 2023 to 2025 shows how fast a casual-shoe brand can fade. Here owner earnings start at $10.18 (2025's 11.6% decline repeated) and fall 10% a year for four more years. Tariffs are not recovered. The fall then slows to 5% a year through year 10, and earnings fade to zero by year 20. We also assume about $150 million of the disputed tax positions has to be paid in cash in year 3. The debt adds to the risk in this case: $350 million of 4.25% notes due March 2029, $350 million of 4.125% notes due August 2031 and a $500 million term loan. Long-term debt had risen to $1.31 billion by June 2026 as the company borrowed partly to buy back stock. Interest is already deducted from owner earnings, but shrinking earnings would leave far less room to handle refinancing. Bull case: $211.73 per share. Earnings start at about $12.00, the 2025 level adjusted for this year's softer first half. They grow 5% a year for four years as international direct-to-consumer sales keep growing at recent rates and HEYDUDE returns to its 2024 profit level, then grow 3% a year through year 10. They hold level for fifteen more years before fading. What would make this wrong: a faster loss of demand for Crocs clogs in the United States; tariffs that cannot be passed on; or tax authorities disputing the intellectual-property transfers, which would turn more of the $642.2 million reserve into cash payments. On the other side, if HEYDUDE stabilizes and international growth continues, the base case is conservative.
