Business condition attached to the margin of safety FDA approval of avexitide, followed by launch results showing that the company's owner earnings can turn positive.
Amylyx is a drug developer with no product on the market. Its only past product, RELYVRIO (sold as ALBRIOZA in Canada) for ALS, was withdrawn from the market in 2024 based on topline results from the Phase 3 PHOENIX trial. Revenue fell from $380.8 million in 2023 to $87.4 million in 2024 and none in 2025. The company cut about 70% of its staff in April 2024 and bought avexitide from Eiger in July 2024. Avexitide is a once-daily injection for post-bariatric hypoglycemia (dangerously low blood sugar after weight-loss surgery), and no approved therapy exists for it. What the business earns today: negative. On our owner-earnings measure (operating cash flow, less working-capital swings, less stock compensation, less maintenance spending), the business lost about $150 million in 2025, or $1.59 per share, versus $155 million (a $2.27 per share loss) in 2024. The only positive year, 2023 at $0.57 per share, came entirely from the RELYVRIO launch that has since been withdrawn, so we do not treat it as a normal level. In the first half of 2026 the loss ran at roughly $165 million a year, and the second-quarter net loss ($43.4 million) was higher than the first ($41.3 million). Recent news: on August 18, 2026 the company reported that the Phase 3 LUCIDITY trial of avexitide met its main goal, with a 55% reduction in serious low-blood-sugar events versus placebo, and it plans to file with the FDA by year-end 2026 and prepare for a possible 2027 launch. This is genuinely good news, but it is not approval. Under our approach we credit only what is already secured, so we assign no value to avexitide sales until the FDA approves the drug and sales begin. Everything beyond cash is therefore left at zero, and the values below are deliberately low. They are not a prediction that the drug is worthless. What we do value: cash. The company held $250.8 million in cash and securities at June 30, 2026, which it says funds operations into 2028, and it has about 111 million shares. That is roughly $2.26 of cash per share. Each case subtracts the owner-earnings losses (about $165 million a year) incurred until the FDA decision, discounted at 6%. Bear case, $0.00 per share: the FDA decision slips into 2028 or the filing needs more work, the roughly 24-month spending at the current pace uses up all the cash, and nothing remains for shareholders. Base case, $0.12: the FDA decides by the end of 2027 (18 months of losses), leaving about $14 million of cash. Bull case, $0.47: the decision comes by the end of September 2027 (15 months of losses), leaving about $52 million. The cases differ only in how much cash is spent before an answer; none credits sales, because none exist yet. Accounting judgments: stock-based compensation, $27.6 million in 2025, is treated as a real cost. The $118.7 million 2024 inventory write-down and the $36.2 million 2024 avexitide purchase charge are non-cash or one-time and are already added back in operating cash flow. No debt is deducted from the cash figure, because the projected losses are already charged against it. What could make this wrong: approval and a successful launch of avexitide would be worth far more than these figures, and we have not tried to price it. Conversely, a rejected filing or a further raise of capital (which would dilute shareholders) would push the value lower. We will revisit once the FDA acts and launch results are visible.

Sales geography
No product sales currently. Past sales (2022 to 2024) were RELYVRIO in the United States and ALBRIOZA in Canada; both were withdrawn from the market in 2024. Any future avexitide sales would be in the United States.
