Business condition attached to the margin of safety Management commits to protecting the cash balance beyond the two tibulizumab Phase 2 readouts: either a signed partnership in which a partner funds further tibulizumab development, or a disclosed decision (strategic review, wind-down or capital return) that stops unfunded spending if the TibuSHIELD (Q4 2026) or TibuSURE (H1 2027) data are not strong enough to justify Phase 3.
Zura Bio is a clinical-stage drug developer with no revenue. It owns licenses to three antibodies for autoimmune and inflammatory disease: tibulizumab (ZB-106, an IL-17A/BAFF bispecific licensed from Eli Lilly), crebankitug (ZB-168, anti-IL-7R, licensed from Pfizer) and torudokimab (ZB-880, anti-IL-33, licensed from Lilly). It is running two global Phase 2 trials of tibulizumab. TibuSHIELD in hidradenitis suppurativa is expected to report topline results in the fourth quarter of 2026. TibuSURE in diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis was pushed back in January 2026 and is now expected in the first half of 2027. Crebankitug and torudokimab have only been through early trials run by their original owners. None of the three has completed a Phase 2 trial, and all royalties and milestones owed to Lilly and Pfizer depend on future success. What the business earns: Measured as the cash the operation actually generates after share-based pay and equipment, the company has lost money every year since it went public through a SPAC merger in March 2023. It lost about $29.8 million in 2023 ($0.90 per share), $47.3 million in 2024 ($0.63) and $73.6 million in 2025 ($0.78). The midpoint of those three years is a loss of about $0.78 per share. Licenses bought with shares or paid for up front, including a $27.4 million non-cash license charge in 2023, were treated as one-time purchase costs and not as ongoing costs. A $5.0 million non-cash gain from settling a license liability in 2025 was excluded. The spending is getting bigger, not smaller. The cash loss grew 56% in 2025, and in the first half of 2026 operating cash outflow was $39.8 million, with research spending rising from $14.7 million in the first quarter to $20.7 million in the second. We assume a burn of about $85-92 million a year while both trials are running. That is in line with the recent rate and with management's statement that its cash lasts through the end of 2028. The balance sheet: The company has no borrowings. After a February 2026 offering of 21.2 million shares and 1.8 million pre-funded warrants at $6.25, which raised about $135.1 million net, it held $205.1 million of cash at June 30, 2026. That is roughly $1.62 per share on about 126.8 million diluted shares, counting pre-funded warrants. Payables and accrued costs are ordinary operating items and are already reflected in the burn. How we value it: Until a drug is approved and selling, its future revenue is a hope and not a secured, proven source of earnings, so we give the drug candidates no value in any case. That is not a statement that the drugs will fail. It means their value cannot yet be measured from anything the business has already done. What shareholders own today is the cash, less what the company will spend. The three cases differ only in how much of the cash is used up before anything is produced, discounted at 6%. Bear case ($0.10 per share): Both trials read out and the company then spends the rest of its disclosed runway, about $46 million in the second half of 2026, $85 million in 2027 and $70 million in 2028, plus about $5 million to wind down, on further development without producing a marketable drug. The operation is worth about -$192 million in today's money, debt is zero, and about $13 million of the $205 million in cash is left. Base case ($0.59 per share): The company spends at the current rate through the end of 2027 to finish both trials and their open-label extensions, about $131 million plus wind-down costs. The operation is worth about -$130 million, debt is zero, and about $75 million is left for shareholders. This is roughly the median path: most drugs that enter Phase 2 do not reach approval, and a company whose main drug fails usually stops at that point. Bull case ($0.90 per share): Spending stops being a charge against shareholders once both readouts are in (mid-2027), either because a partner pays for later development or because unused cash is kept. The cost is about $88 million plus wind-down. The operation is worth about -$91 million, debt is zero, and about $114 million is left. Even here we give no value for a successful tibulizumab result. Positive data could make the licenses worth far more than this, but a partnership or approval that does not yet exist cannot be counted. What could make this wrong: The main upside risk to our numbers is clinical success. Good TibuSHIELD data in late 2026 would create value that this cash-based approach deliberately leaves out. The main downside risks are faster spending than we expect, and more share sales at low prices that would cut each share's claim on the cash. The company has sold stock many times since 2023, including at $1.75 a share in early 2025. It also changed chief executives twice between October 2025 and January 2026, and the new CEO has a performance option tied to a future equity raise, which suggests more share issuance is planned.

Chart analysis
Our price history for this stock is limited, so this reading relies on transaction prices the company has disclosed. The shares began trading in March 2023 after the merger with the JATT Acquisition Corp SPAC. The company sold stock at $3.80 in September 2024 and at $1.75 in the first quarter of 2025, which points to a long post-listing decline to a low in early 2025. Its underwritten offering at $6.25 in February 2026 means the price more than tripled from that low. A chartist would see this as a sharp recovery off a base that has broken the prior downtrend. Stocks like this tend to swing hard on trial data, and the TibuSHIELD readout in the fourth quarter of 2026 is the obvious event that could move the price sharply either way. Without full daily price and volume data, support and resistance levels cannot be identified reliably.
