Zedge runs a mobile personalization business. Its main product is the Zedge App, a free wallpaper, ringtone and notification-sound marketplace with 23.3 million monthly users at July 31, 2025, roughly 95% of them on Android. Two smaller businesses sit alongside it: Emojipedia, a website about emoji, and GuruShots, a photo-contest game. In fiscal 2025 (year ended July 31, 2025) revenue was $29.4 million, of which $20.3 million was advertising, $5.1 million was paid subscriptions and $2.2 million came from GuruShots. Three ad partners (Google, Liftoff and AppLovin) supplied 72% of advertising revenue. The company has no debt (it repaid its $2 million term loan in November 2023) and held $18.6 million of cash at July 31, 2025. It repurchased about 1.3 million shares in fiscal 2025 for roughly $4.4 million. How we measured earnings. We start from operating cash flow, then remove swings in working capital, then subtract stock compensation and the part of software and equipment spending needed to stand still. Two judgements mattered. First, in fiscal 2024 and 2025 Zedge collected cash up front for lifetime subscriptions launched in August 2023 (about 693,000 lifetime subscriptions by July 2025). That cash showed up as a $2.3 million rise in deferred revenue in fiscal 2025 and $0.7 million in fiscal 2024. It pays for service the company still owes, so we removed it; this is why fiscal 2025 comes out negative at about $(0.09) per share even though operating cash flow was $3.4 million. Second, we added back non-cash write-downs, including an $8.7 million goodwill write-off in fiscal 2023 and an $11.96 million write-off of intangible assets in fiscal 2024, both tied to GuruShots, because they are sunk acquisition costs. The repeated write-offs of that purchase are reflected in the bear case rather than in the earnings level. Our owner-earnings series over the last ten years, per share: $0.11 (fiscal 2016), $(0.15), $(0.18), $(0.31), $0.03, $0.63 (fiscal 2021, when revenue doubled before the acquisitions), $0.49, $0.11, $0.13, and $(0.09) (fiscal 2025). We measured the business from fiscal 2022, the first year with both Emojipedia (bought August 2021) and GuruShots (bought April 2022). Fiscal 2021 is left out because it describes a different, smaller business. The median of fiscal 2022 to 2025 is about $0.12 per share, and that is our anchor. Growth check. Owner earnings per share fell from $0.13 in fiscal 2024 to $(0.09) in fiscal 2025. We assume no growth from the $0.12 anchor in year one, which is above the fiscal 2025 figure. The reason is dated and in the filings: fiscal 2025 absorbed restructuring and write-down charges of about $2.5 million across both segments after the January 2025 restructuring, and stock compensation of $1.4 million. In the nine months ended April 30, 2026, stock compensation fell to $0.46 million from $1.31 million a year earlier, revenue rose 8.8% to $23.9 million, and the net loss narrowed to $0.6 million from $1.8 million. On the same method, those nine months produced roughly $3.1 million of owner earnings, about $0.24 per share. We did not lift the anchor on this, because it is nine months of data and we could not review the quarterly commentary. Base case: $1.46 per share. Owner earnings stay at $0.12 a year for ten years, then decline 5% a year afterwards. We credit no growth: nothing in the filings secures it. Advertising revenue slipped from $21.0 million to $20.3 million in fiscal 2025, GuruShots revenue fell 37% to $2.2 million, and 76.7% of Zedge App users are in emerging markets, which earn much lower ad rates than well-developed markets. Subscriptions are growing, from $4.3 million to $5.1 million, but the lifetime plans bring cash early rather than lasting extra earnings, so we did not count them as growth. The decline after year ten is a judgement: the company has existed since 2008, but nothing in the filings gives us a basis to assume lasting growth. Bear case: $0.22 per share. In late September 2025 Google changed its search results so people can copy emojis without visiting sites like Emojipedia, and AI assistants now answer emoji questions directly; the company says this is likely to reduce traffic and revenue. Combined with the reliance on three ad partners, the low ad rates in emerging markets and two large GuruShots write-offs, we assume owner earnings drop to about $0.03 per share, the level of fiscal 2020, for ten years, and nothing after. We do not add the cash balance separately, because interest earned on it is already inside owner earnings. A business that loses money would still be cushioned by roughly $1.4 per share of cash, so this case is not a wipe-out scenario. Bull case: $2.92 per share. Owner earnings hold at about $0.24 per share, the nine-month fiscal 2026 pace, for ten years, then decline 5% a year. This requires the lower stock compensation and the cost cuts to stick and no lasting damage from the Google change; it does not credit GuruShots 2.0, DataSeeds.AI (the new business selling image data for AI training) or any market expansion, because we cannot point to established revenue from any of them. What could make this wrong: a faster decline in Emojipedia and Zedge App traffic than we assume, loss of a major ad partner, or a return to large acquisition write-offs. On the other side, sustained profits at the recent nine-month pace would move the value toward the bull case. We could not review the latest quarterly report's narrative, so our view of fiscal 2026 rests on its reported figures alone.
