Whitehawk Therapeutics (formerly Aadi Bioscience, and before that Aerpio Pharmaceuticals) is a clinical-stage cancer drug developer with no products for sale. In March 2025 it sold its only marketed drug, FYARRO (for a rare sarcoma called PEComa), to KAKEN Pharmaceutical for $102.4 million before adjustments. It now owns worldwide rights to three antibody-drug conjugates licensed in December 2024 from WuXi Biologics, using a linker-payload developed by Hangzhou DAC: HWK-007 (PTK7 target; lung, ovarian and endometrial cancer), HWK-016 (MUC16; ovarian and endometrial cancer) and HWK-206 (SEZ6; small cell lung cancer and neuroendocrine tumors). The FDA cleared the HWK-007 and HWK-016 trial applications in late 2025 and early 2026. Both Phase 1 trials are recruiting and first data are expected in the first half of 2027. HWK-206 was planned to enter the clinic in mid-2026. What the business earns: nothing yet. Cash generated for owners, after stock-based pay and equipment spending, has been negative in every one of the last ten years. In 2025 it was about -$110 million, including roughly $43 million of one-time license payments to WuXi. In the first half of 2026 it was about -$40 million, and about -$17 million in the second quarter alone. The company had about $190 million of cash and short-term investments at June 30, 2026 against about $11 million of total liabilities, with no borrowings. That includes about $82 million of new equity raised in the second quarter of 2026. We count roughly 85 million shares including pre-funded warrants, so net cash is a little over $2 per share. The March 2025 private placement raised $100 million gross. The company says its cash lasts into 2028. How we valued it: we give the drug candidates no value in any case. All three are in or before first-in-human testing. Nothing about their future sales can be pointed to today, and the license also carries up to $265 million of development and $540 million of commercial milestones plus royalties owed to WuXi. What owners can count on is the cash, minus what management has said it will spend. Each case is therefore the cash left for shareholders after the spending path, discounted at 6%. Base case ($0.67): spending runs at about $75 million a year, roughly the 2025 level without the one-time license payments and between the first-half and second-quarter 2026 rates. It continues through the end of 2027, matching the company's own funding horizon and the 2027 data readouts. About $60 million is then left after wind-down costs. Bull case ($1.21): spending holds at the lower second-quarter 2026 pace and stops after the first-half 2027 readouts, leaving just over $100 million. Bear case ($0): the company keeps spending past the readouts, as its record suggests. In 2024 it halted its lead FYARRO trial, cut about 32% of staff and put fresh cash into new licensed assets rather than returning it. At about $75 million a year the cash is gone by roughly the end of 2028, and more dilutive financing follows. The company has no debt, so the downside is loss of the investment, not owing more than it is worth. Other risks named in the filings: the company depends on WuXi Biologics and Hangzhou DAC, both in China. The BIOSECURE Act, signed into law in the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, and US limits on sharing patient data with Chinese parties could disrupt supply or trials. WuXi can also end the license program by program if development diligence milestones are missed. What would make this wrong: strong Phase 1 data in 2027 that leads to a partnership or approval path would create value we have deliberately not counted. That is the market's bet, not something the filings can support today. On the other side, higher spending or a new in-licensing deal would push the value toward zero faster. The margin-of-safety price of $0.30 is far below the cash per share. It reflects the real chance that shareholders see none of that cash before it is spent.
