Praxis Precision Medicines develops drugs for brain disorders. It has no product on the market and has never had product sales. Its most advanced candidates are ulixacaltamide for essential tremor and relutrigine for two severe childhood epilepsies (SCN2A and SCN8A developmental and epileptic encephalopathies). Both have had a New Drug Application submitted to the U.S. FDA. In October 2025 the two Phase 3 studies of ulixacaltamide reported positive results, and the FDA granted it Breakthrough Therapy Designation. In December 2025 the registrational cohort of the relutrigine EMBOLD study was stopped early for efficacy on the recommendation of its monitoring committee. Two further programs, vormatrigine (focal onset seizures) and elsunersen (an SCN2A antisense treatment), are still in clinical testing. What the business earns today: nothing. Cash from operations was negative $111.1 million in 2023, negative $131.8 million in 2024 and negative $249.1 million in 2025, and spending is still rising: operating cash outflow was $163.7 million in the first half of 2026 against $107.7 million in the first half of 2025. After removing swings in payables, accruals and prepaid expenses and deducting stock compensation, our owner-earnings measure was a loss of about $123.0 million in 2023, $185.2 million in 2024 and $307.0 million in 2025 (roughly negative $18.65, negative $10.34 and negative $13.64 per share). The 2025 loss was about 66% larger than 2024's. Because of a large share count increase over that period, per-share losses did not widen in step. Only six years of filings (2020 to 2025) are available. How we valued it: we credit only what is secured today. What is secured is cash: the company had about $1.4 billion of cash and investments at June 30, 2026, helped by net proceeds of $621.2 million from a January 2026 share offering. Total liabilities were only $59.8 million at year-end 2025. We assign no value to the drugs themselves. Approval by the FDA has not happened, commercial success depends on market acceptance that has not been demonstrated, and none of that meets our standard for value we can point to today. Milestone payments that the Tenacia license makes possible are likewise contingent and are excluded. Because we give the drugs no value, we also do not charge the cost of developing them beyond the point where the important answers arrive. The three cases therefore differ in how much cash is consumed before those answers arrive. All figures use about 29.1 million shares, the second-quarter 2026 diluted weighted count. Bear case, $12.01 per share: the programs disappoint and the company keeps spending at roughly $700 million a year, the pace that would exhaust its cash in about two years, in line with the company's own statement that its funding lasts into 2028. We assume that spending continues for 18 months, using $1.05 billion and leaving about $350 million. Base case, $31.20 per share: spending continues at the first-half 2026 pace, about $327 million a year when annualized, for 18 months, through the studies and regulatory milestones the company expects in 2027 (POWER2 and EMBRAVE3 results and a possible supplemental application for relutrigine). That uses about $491 million and leaves about $909 million. Bull case, $36.82 per share: the same first-half 2026 spending pace, but the regulatory decisions on the two submitted applications arrive within 12 months, so only about $327 million is consumed and about $1.07 billion remains. These figures do not include any value for a successful drug. If approvals come, the business could be worth far more than these cases show; if the drugs are approved but sell poorly, or if the company raises money by issuing more shares, the per-share figures above fall. Results for the vormatrigine POWER1 study and the elsunersen EMBRAVE Part A study, both expected in the first half of 2026, and any later filings were not built into this analysis. Because there is no earnings history to judge and the cash is being spent, the margin-of-safety price is set wide, at about $12, roughly the bear case. The main thing that could make this analysis wrong is the size of the spending. The company is in pre-launch preparation for two products, and its own funding statement implies spending well above the recent pace.
