Omega Flex makes flexible metal piping and hose at plants in Exton, Pennsylvania, Houston, Texas and Banbury, England. Most of its sales and profit come from one product line: TracPipe and CounterStrike flexible gas piping. These carry natural gas or propane from a building's meter to its gas appliances. CounterStrike is built to resist damage from lightning-induced electrical arcing, and since 2011 it is the only version the company sells in the United States. Smaller lines include MediTrac medical gas tubing and DoubleTrac double-containment piping. About 97% of sales are in North America. Most go through independent wholesale distributors, and one customer accounted for 13% of 2025 sales (15% in 2024). The company has no long-term debt and held $53.2 million of cash at the end of 2025. How we measured earnings. We start from operating cash flow. We strip out swings in working capital, charge stock-based pay as a real cost, and deduct the capital spending needed to keep the business running. Capital needs are small, about 1.4% of sales. We treat lease payments as an ordinary operating cost. On that basis the business earned between $1.33 and $2.70 per share a year from 2016 through 2025. It peaked in the 2021 housing boom, when sales reached $130.0 million, and fell to $1.42 in 2025 on sales of $98.3 million. Demand follows residential and commercial construction, so we use the median of the full ten-year cycle, $1.82 per share, as the measure of normal earning power. We do not use the latest year alone. What has changed recently. In 2025, sales fell 3.3% on lower housing starts and operating profit fell 21.5%. Engineering spending rose 23.9% to $5.0 million as the company spent more on product development and certification. The company's 2025 annual report says copper costs, and tariffs on stainless steel, rose toward the end of 2025. Both quarters reported since then show the effect. First-half 2026 sales were $47.2 million against $48.9 million a year earlier. Gross margin fell to 55.8% from 60.4%, and operating profit fell to $5.4 million from $8.8 million. We estimate first-half owner earnings at about $0.40 per share, against about $0.70 a year earlier. Without the quarterly reports' narrative, we could not tell how much of the margin drop is tariffs and how much is other cost pressure. The dividend of $1.36 per share a year is now more than the business earns and is being paid partly from cash. The base case ($27.43 per share) assumes owner earnings of about $0.95 a share over the next year. That is roughly 30% below 2025, a steeper drop than the 18% fall in 2025, and close to the current run rate. Earnings then recover over five years to $1.75 and stay there. The recovery rests on two things. First, the company has a record of pricing power: gross margin stayed between 60% and 63% every year from 2016 to 2025, including the 2021 to 2022 commodity inflation, so it has passed higher costs on before. Second, a normal year of construction volume across the cycle has meant sales of about $107 million. We set the level slightly below the $1.82 cycle median because operating costs have risen: 2025 sales were back at 2017 levels, but operating profit was about 30% lower. After year ten we hold earnings flat in dollars, which means they shrink after inflation. That matches the last decade, when earnings per share were about the same in 2025 as in 2016. The period after year ten makes up about 60% of the base value. It rests on the company's long presence in gas piping (TracPipe since 1997), its established distributor network and its product certifications. The bear case ($10.18) assumes the tariff and copper cost increases are never passed on and volumes stay at 2026 levels. Owner earnings then stay at about $0.80 a share for ten years. After that they decline 4% a year, reflecting the company's own disclosed risk that limits on fossil-fuel use in buildings could shrink its market. Other named risks sit in this case too. A major distributor could switch to a competing product. The company also faces continuing product-liability claims over lightning damage, although its own estimate of reasonably possible losses beyond what it has reserved is about $1 million. The bull case ($33.07) assumes prices catch up with costs within about two years and gross margin returns to the 60% to 62% range. Volumes return to 2018 to 2019 and 2023 levels, and owner earnings reach $2.10 a share, still below the 2021 to 2023 results. We did not credit new products with any growth, because the filings give no evidence of their size. These values do not add the cash on the balance sheet. The interest it earns, about $2 million a year, is already in the earnings figures. What would make this estimate wrong: gross margin stays near 56% beyond 2026, the 13% customer moves to a competing product, or gas bans in new construction start to reduce volume.
