Immunovant, Inc. (IMVT) stock intrinsic value fair value estimate & owner earnings analysis

Margin of safety$0.00 ComplexityHigh Updated
Immunovant is a clinical-stage biotechnology company and a majority-owned subsidiary of Roivant Sciences. It has never had revenue and does not expect any unless its antibody IMVT-1402 (a treatment that blocks the FcRn pathway to lower harmful autoantibodies) is approved and sold. The company is running potentially registrational trials of IMVT-1402 in Graves' disease (two trials started December 2024 and June 2025), difficult-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis (December 2024), myasthenia gravis and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (both March 2025) and Sjogren's disease (June 2025), plus an earlier study in cutaneous lupus. What the business earns today: nothing. Cash from operations was negative $407 million in the year ended March 31, 2026, and our per-share earnings measure (operating cash flow less working-capital swings, less stock compensation, less capital spending) was about negative $2.83 per share, versus negative $1.23 in fiscal 2021. The loss has widened every year as trials expanded. Stock-based compensation of $55.7 million is treated as a real cost. In the first quarter of fiscal 2027 (ended June 30, 2026) operating cash flow was negative $124 million, so the pace has not slowed. Cash was $902.1 million at March 31, 2026 and $797.8 million at June 30, 2026, and management says it is sufficient to fund announced indications through potential commercial launch. How we value it: we only credit value that rests on something already secured or already proven. Here there is no product approved, no revenue, no contract for future sales and no earnings history, so no stream of future owner earnings can be named and evidenced. The trials are real and well funded, but positive results, approval, reimbursement and market share against established FcRn competitor Argenx (which is itself moving into Graves' disease) are all events that have not yet happened. Under our approach they are left out of every case rather than included at a discount. Each future year of spending is a cost with no evidenced return, so the value of the business as it stands is zero in the bear, base and bull cases alike. The cash on hand is not added, because it is being consumed by the trials and only has value if the trials produce a business. What would make this wrong: successful pivotal readouts (management expects top-line results across the programs starting in the second half of calendar 2026) followed by approval and launch would create a genuine earnings stream that this analysis deliberately does not assume. That is the main way the shares could be worth far more than zero. The opposite risks are trial failure, safety findings, or a need to raise more capital by issuing shares, which would dilute holders. Margin-of-safety price: on the evidence available today, the margin-of-safety price is zero. The estimate would be revisited once IMVT-1402 has an approval and demonstrated, profitable sales.
