Inhibikase Therapeutics, Inc. (IKT) stock intrinsic value fair value estimate & owner earnings analysis

Margin of safety$0.00 ComplexityHigh Updated
Inhibikase Therapeutics is a clinical-stage drug developer with no product on the market and no product revenue. Its lead candidate, IKT-001, is an oral prodrug of imatinib being developed for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). A Phase 3 study, IMPROVE-PAH, has been initiated at a small number of sites, and the FDA has indicated the 505(b)(2) pathway is appropriate for approval. The company reported revenue of $0.26 million in 2023 and none in 2024. We value a business on the cash it generates for owners after real costs. Inhibikase consumes cash. Operating cash flow was $(27.8) million in 2025 and $(19.1) million in 2024. Stock compensation, which was $15.3 million in 2025 and $8.1 million in 2024, is a genuine cost paid in shares, so we deduct it. After that, owner earnings were about $(43.2) million in 2025 and $(27.5) million in 2024, or roughly $(0.44) and $(1.16) per share; the per-share figures fell partly because the weighted share count grew from about 23.7 million to 98.3 million as the company raised money. Only two years are shown because share counts reported in earlier filings differ between filings and could not be put on a consistent basis. All three cases are valued at $0 per share. The company has no contracted revenue, no approved product and no earnings history. Phase 3 has only just begun, so approval, launch and sales are things that have not yet happened, and we do not credit value for them in any case. Nothing in the filings supports positive owner earnings that we can point to. Bear case: the company keeps spending and the trial does not lead to an approved product. Base case: the company continues to consume cash through Phase 3 without a demonstrated return, so the value of the earning stream is zero. Bull case: the Phase 3 program executes on schedule, but even that leaves approval and commercial revenue unproven, so we assign no value to it. The company held $178.8 million of cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities at December 31, 2025, and management believes this funds operations for at least the next twelve months. This cash is not credited as value in our cases because it is earmarked to fund development, which we value at zero; the shares may nonetheless carry value attributable to the drug candidate or the cash. Outstanding Series A-1 and Series B-1 warrants to purchase tens of millions of additional shares could dilute current holders. In 2025 the company also wrote off $7.4 million of acquired in-process research and development. What would make this wrong: a positive Phase 3 readout, FDA approval of IKT-001 for PAH and a successful launch would create value we have not counted. We would revisit the analysis if that evidence appears.
