Hamilton Beach Brands designs and sells small kitchen appliances (blenders, air fryers, toasters, coffee makers, slow cookers and similar) under the Hamilton Beach, Proctor Silex and Weston names, plus commercial equipment for restaurants, bars and hotels. A small Health segment leases connected home-medication devices (the Smart Sharps Bin, from the HealthBeacon business acquired in February 2024) and licenses healthcare software. Products are made by roughly 70 outside suppliers, a majority of finished goods from China, so the company owns brands and retailer relationships rather than factories. In 2025 revenue was $606.9 million, of which consumer products were $532.4 million, commercial $59.9 million, licensing $8.9 million and leasing $5.7 million. Hamilton Beach describes itself as the number two small-appliance brand in the U.S. by units and number four by dollars. What the shares are worth. We measure what the business earns for its owners: operating cash flow, with the swings in inventory, receivables and payables removed, then subtracting stock compensation (a real cost) and the capital spending needed to stand still. On that basis owner earnings were $1.53 per share in 2017, $1.90 in 2018, $1.24 in 2019, $1.84 in 2020, $1.29 in 2021, $2.16 in 2022, $1.77 in 2023, $2.81 in 2024 and $2.46 in 2025. Figures for 2017 through 2020 exclude a business the company exited, which its filings show as discontinued operations. We use the middle of the 2019 to 2025 results, about $1.84 per share (roughly $25 million a year), as the normal level. We did not use the strong 2024 and 2025 results as the base, and we start the window in 2019, when the exited business was separated out of the results. Revenue has been essentially flat for nine years ($612 million in 2017, $607 million in 2025), so we give the company no credit for growth. Owner earnings fell 12.5% in 2025 (from $2.81 to $2.46); our base case assumes no growth from a level of $1.84, which is lower than either of the last two years. Reported operating cash flow is much more volatile: it was $13.8 million in 2025 versus $65.4 million in 2024, mainly because working capital rose, including lower payables and lower tax and incentive-pay accruals. Base case, $23.50 per share. Owner earnings stay at about $1.84 per share for 25 years and then stop counting. What supports it: nine years of flat revenue with owner earnings that stayed positive every year, the Hamilton Beach and Proctor Silex brands, and shelf space at major retailers. We credit no growth from the Commercial and Health businesses, the Lotus premium brand launched in September 2025, or new products, because none of these has yet produced steady, repeated gains. We assume nothing beyond 25 years because nothing we can point to supports it. All cases use a 6% discount rate. Bear case, $7.40 per share. Customer concentration is the named risk. Walmart was 29% of 2025 revenue and Amazon.com 19% (down from 24% in 2024 and 2023); the five largest customers were 62%. The company says it has no long-term supply contracts with these customers. If a customer of Amazon's size were mostly lost, that is about $115 million of revenue at a 25.7% gross margin, roughly $30 million of gross profit. We assume about half is lost after cost cuts, taking owner earnings to about $1.00 per share for ten years, after which we credit nothing. Tariffs on Chinese-made goods are also a live risk: a one-time $5.3 million tariff cost reduced 2025 gross margin by 0.9 percentage point. Debt is modest ($50 million drawn on a $125 million revolving facility that matures in December 2029), so we do not treat it as a major bear factor. Bull case, $33.90 per share. The company's existing levers do well: Commercial revenue rose from $51.8 million to $59.9 million in 2025, Health leasing and licensing revenue continued to grow, and consumer volume returned after retailers paused purchases in the second and third quarters of 2025 while they assessed tariff-driven price increases. We credit owner earnings of about $2.65 per share for 25 years, roughly the 2024 to 2025 average, which the company has actually reached in both of the last two years. What changed recently. In the first half of 2026 revenue was $264.6 million versus $261.1 million a year earlier, and second-quarter revenue rose 11.6% as retailers resumed buying. Net income for the half was $37.2 million, boosted by $36.5 million of refunded tariffs that the company says is non-recurring. Because the company describes that benefit as one-time, and how much ultimately reaches shareholders is unclear, we did not include it in normal earnings or in any case. The company still expects operating profit to fall in 2026, with $6 million of extra advertising and $6 million of accelerated depreciation on a new business system. What would make this wrong: loss or sharp reduction of a major retailer, new tariffs that cannot be passed on, or a steady decline in brand strength. Working-capital swings (inventory, payables, and a supplier-payment program capped at $65 million) make yearly cash flow unreliable, which is why we rely on the median rather than any single year. Margin-of-safety price, $12.50 per share, roughly half the base value and about 1.7 times the bear case, reflecting heavy dependence on a few retailers, no long-term contracts and flat revenue.
