Gold.com (renamed from A-Mark Precious Metals in December 2025) buys, sells, stores, mints and finances gold, silver, platinum and palladium. It has a wholesale business (a U.S. Mint-authorized purchaser since 1986, with logistics, storage and minting), a direct-to-consumer business (JM Bullion, Goldline, Pinehurst, the retail side of Stack's Bowers, and Monex, acquired January 2026) and a small secured-lending arm. Fiscal 2026 (year to June 2026) revenue was $25.5 billion, but that is mostly the metal's price passing through. The company keeps about 1.8% of it as gross profit ($453 million), or about 3.55% excluding forward sales. How we measured earnings. Reported operating cash flow badly overstates this business: it was $1.22 billion in fiscal 2026, but $1.10 billion of that was working-capital movement, mainly a $1.45 billion advance from Tether (a related party that is both a customer and a metal lessor) for metal not yet delivered. We remove all working-capital swings, deduct stock compensation ($2.4 million) and capital spending ($12.7 million), and treat all capital spending as maintenance because revenue moves with metal prices, not with the size of the business. Interest is already deducted. That leaves about $107 million of owner earnings in fiscal 2026, or $3.91 per average share. The per-share history (adjusted for the 2022 two-for-one split) is $6.21 (FY2022), $6.35 (FY2023), $2.18 (FY2024), $1.48 (FY2025) and $3.91 (FY2026). Owner earnings were positive in each of the last nine years, including the weak FY2024 and FY2025. The starting level. We use the median of FY2022 to FY2026, about $107 million, or roughly $3.60 per share on the 29.1 million shares outstanding at June 30, 2026 (up about 4.5 million during the year from a stock offering and acquisitions). FY2021 is excluded because JM Bullion was owned for only part of that year during the pandemic buying surge, and earlier years describe a much smaller business. Owner earnings rose 164% in FY2026 ($1.48 to $3.91), but our first-year assumption is $3.60, below that: FY2026 benefited from gold prices up 51% and silver up 112% on average, wider premium spreads and 24% more gold ounces sold, and we do not assume that repeats. Base case, $41 per share. Earnings stay at $3.60 per share for five years, decline 2% a year through year ten, then decline 5% a year afterwards. We credit no growth. What is secured is that Monex and Sunshine Minting (acquired April 2026) are already owned; we did not add anything beyond the median for their full-year effect. Left out: future acquisitions (five deals in about 18 months were funded partly with new shares, so they are not small, self-funded steps), a growing bullion market, more Tether business, and any margin improvement. The gradual decline reflects two things in the filings: acquired customer relationships and trade names are being written down ($34.8 million of depreciation and amortization in FY2026, mostly acquired intangibles), and a thin-margin dealer has little pricing power. What keeps earnings going at all is a business operating since 1965, its Mint-authorized status, and a nine-year record of positive owner earnings. Bear case, $14 per share. Earnings fall back to about $1.20 per share (about $35 million, essentially what the company actually earned in FY2025, $36 million) and stay there for ten years, then decline 6% a year. Named risks: the FY2025 result shows how low a quieter year can go; interest expense rose to $61 million in FY2026 because the business is financed with credit lines, product financing and borrowed metal; selling and administrative costs nearly doubled (up 98%, of which $104 million came from acquired companies); and Tether accounted for $1.19 billion of FY2026 sales plus the large advance and metal leasing, a concentration that could shrink. Bull case, $73 per share. Earnings run at about $5.50 per share (about $160 million, the FY2023 level of $156 million plus a full year of Monex and Sunshine Minting) for ten years, then decline 3% a year. This uses only levels the company has already produced, not a new high. Margin-of-safety price, $17. Results have swung between about $1.50 and over $6 per share in five years, margins are thin, the balance sheet carries large trading-related financing, and one related party is very large relative to the business. The margin-of-safety price is set near the bear case, roughly 60% below the base value, to allow for a repeat of FY2025. What could make this wrong. If FY2026's wider spreads and volatility were unusual, a normal year looks like FY2025 and the base case is too high. Also, the filing shows Tether's sales but not the profit earned on them, so we could not measure how much of FY2026's profit depends on that relationship.
