Geron is a newly commercial biotechnology company built around one product: RYTELO, a telomerase inhibitor approved in June 2024 for lower-risk myelodysplastic syndromes with transfusion-dependent anaemia, and cleared in Europe in March 2025. The commercial start has been genuine - product revenue went from nothing in 2023 to $76.5 million in 2024 and $183.6 million in 2025, with $109.3 million in the first half of 2026 - but the company still consumes cash. Owner earnings, operating cash flow less capital spending and the cost of stock compensation, were negative $104 million, $136 million, $187 million, $250 million and $138 million in the five years to 2025, and a further $79 million of operating cash went out in the first half of 2026 as inventory was built. Liquidity was about $401 million at the end of 2025, down from $503 million a year earlier. Against that sit real obligations: a $125 million senior secured term loan bearing about 11.1%, secured on substantially all assets including the intellectual property, and a $130 million liability from selling Royalty Pharma a 7.75% royalty on United States RYTELO sales. The share count has roughly doubled in three years, to 642 million, and a new $150 million at-the-market equity programme was signed in February 2026. There is also a binary event ahead: a Phase 3 trial in relapsed or refractory myelofibrosis whose interim survival analysis management says may occur in the second half of 2026. Our bear case assumes RYTELO plateaus near current levels, the myelofibrosis trial disappoints, and the business settles at only $25 million of annual owner earnings from the fifth year, discounted at 14% against net liquidity of about $67 million after obligations - roughly $0.26 a share on a diluted count near 700 million. The base case assumes $90 million from the fourth year at a 13% discount rate, about $0.99. The bull case assumes the myelofibrosis indication succeeds and earnings reach $180 million, about $2.07. This is a single-product company with debt secured on its patents and an approaching binary readout, so the bear case is not a dependable floor. We anchor on it anyway and take a further 40% off, which puts the margin-of-safety price at $0.15. Our confidence in any central estimate is below 50%.
