Flexsteel designs, makes and sources residential furniture, mostly upholstered seating (sofas, recliners and similar), plus ready-to-assemble and case goods, and sells it through furniture retailers across the United States. Seating is built in leased plants in Juarez, Mexico; case goods and some seating are sourced from Vietnam. No customer is more than 10% of sales, and the order backlog was $70.1M at June 30, 2026, up from $66.5M and $59.5M in the two prior years. The company has no borrowings, $16.7M of cash, and a new $30M secured credit line signed on August 18, 2026 (replacing a $55M facility). What we changed. Our earlier estimate (bear $35.68, base $80.67, bull $131.44) was made before the fiscal 2026 annual report. We now measure owner earnings more strictly: we remove the one-off swings in inventory, receivables and payables that move cash flow up and down, and we treat stock compensation as a real cost. We also discovered that fiscal 2026 profit contains a one-time gain: about 2 points of the 24.7% gross margin, roughly $9.2M, came from refunds of tariffs that the Supreme Court found were unlawful in February 2026. The company says it has received substantially all eligible refunds, so this will not repeat, and retail partners could still claim part of it. In April 2026 Flexsteel also bought 1.28 million shares from a director's family for $60.2M, which cut the share count from about 5.5 million to about 4.1 million and cash from $40.0M to $16.7M. Together these lower our per-share estimates. How we measured earnings power. Cash the business generates before paying lenders (owner earnings plus cash interest, which has been near zero recently) was about $7.8M in fiscal 2023, $7.4M in 2024, $21.8M in 2025 and $38.2M in 2026 as reported. After removing the tariff refund (about $6.9M after tax) and interest income on cash (about $1.3M), 2026 is about $29.9M. Fiscal 2025 also included a $14.1M non-cash lease write-down and a $9.4M property-sale gain, which cancel out in the cash figures we use. We anchor on the median of fiscal 2023 through 2026, about $14.8M a year. That window covers the slump in furniture demand (fiscal 2023 and 2024) and the recovery since. We leave out fiscal 2022 and earlier because that period was distorted by the pandemic inventory build, the closing of company-owned retail stores and heavy plant and software spending; owner earnings were negative in three of the years from 2018 to 2020. Last year's cash generation grew from $21.8M to $38.2M reported (about 37% growth to $29.9M once the one-time items are removed); we do not project growth from the anchor, so we assume less than that. Growth. We credit none. Sales grew 4% to 7% in each of the last three years and the backlog is rising, but that rests on housing-related consumer demand, share gains and new products, none of which is locked in, so it is left out. The unused leased plant in Mexicali is not credited either. Returning to profit levels above the anchor depends on the recent margin gains lasting, which we count only in the bull case. Bear case: $31.33 per share. Demand and margins settle back at the fiscal 2023 and 2024 average of about $7.6M a year, which is a level the company actually produced, and tariffs on Mexico-built seating rise from 25% to 30% on January 1, 2027 without being passed on. The business is worth about $126M, it owes nothing, and about $10M of its cash is treated as excess, so shareholders' value is about $136M, or $31.33 on about 4.35 million diluted shares (4.09 million outstanding plus the dilution seen in fiscal 2026). With no debt there is no refinancing risk. Base case: $58.92 per share. Earnings stay at the $14.8M anchor with no growth, meaning the recent strong years are partly given back over a normal furniture cycle. The business is worth about $246M, it owes nothing, and with $10M of excess cash shareholders' value is about $256M, or $58.92 per share. What keeps this going is a business operating since 1893 with positive owner earnings in each of the last six fiscal years, no dominant customer and a rising backlog. Bull case: $101.37 per share. The average of fiscal 2025 and adjusted fiscal 2026, about $25.9M a year, proves to be the normal level, helped by the demonstrated ability to hold gross margin near 22.7% (without the refund) while 25% tariffs were in place since October 2025. The business is worth about $431M, it owes nothing, and with $10M of excess cash shareholders' value is about $441M, or $101.37 per share. What could make us wrong. Higher value if the fiscal 2025 and 2026 profit level holds through a downturn; lower if the tariff increase or a fall in home-related furniture demand hits before costs can be passed on. Claims by retail partners on the tariff refunds are a further risk. We assumed the diluted share count from fiscal 2026 experience rather than a reported current figure, and treated $10M of the $16.7M cash as surplus; that is our judgement.

Chart analysis
The annual report does not include a price chart, so this view rests only on what the filings disclose. The most notable disclosed price event is the April 2026 negotiated repurchase of 1,279,870 shares at $47.00 per share from a director and family, roughly a fifth of the shares outstanding beforehand. A chartist would treat the removal of a block that size as the end of a supply overhang and would watch the $47 area as a reference level for support or resistance. Earnings, order backlog and the dividend have all trended up for three years, which is the kind of backdrop that usually supports an uptrend, but without the actual price series no trend lines, moving averages or volume patterns can be described here.
