Contineum Therapeutics is a San Diego clinical-stage drug developer with no approved products and no product sales. Its value today rests on three things: about $236.6 million of cash and marketable securities at June 30, 2026 (roughly $6.29 per share on 37.6 million Class A and Class B shares), no borrowings, and two early-stage drug candidates. PIPE-791, which it owns outright, is an LPA1 blocker now in the PROPEL-IPF Phase 2 trial in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (about 324 patients, 26-week treatment, more than 55 sites in eight countries, started in early 2026); a small Phase 1b study in chronic pain in April 2026 met its safety goals with pain scores numerically better than placebo. PIPE-307 is licensed to Johnson & Johnson, which paid $50 million upfront in 2023 and owes up to about $1.0 billion in milestones plus royalties in the low-double-digit to high-teen percent range if it succeeds. The Phase 2 VISTA trial of PIPE-307 in relapsing multiple sclerosis missed its primary and secondary efficacy goals in November 2025; J&J finished enrolling 107 patients in the MOONLIGHT-1 depression trial in June 2026 and decides alone whether to keep developing the drug. Earnings record: the business has never produced ongoing cash earnings. The only profitable year, 2023, came from the one-time J&J upfront payment and is excluded. In 2024 and 2025 owner earnings (operating cash flow with working-capital swings removed, stock compensation charged as a real cost, and all equipment spending treated as upkeep) were losses of about $45 million ($2.35 per share) and $61 million ($2.19 per share); the median of those two years, a loss of about $2.27 per share, is the starting point. The loss grew about 34% in 2025 while the loss per share narrowed only because more shares were issued. Stripping out interest earned on the cash (valued separately below), the company used about $59 million of cash in 2025 and about $57 million a year in the first half of 2026 before stock compensation, and it guides that its cash lasts through mid-2029, which implies spending will rise as PROPEL-IPF enrolls. No year-one improvement is assumed: every case has spending at or above the current rate. How we value it: because nothing yet brings in revenue, the business is worth its cash less the cash its disclosed plan will consume. We give no value to trial success, J&J milestones or royalties, because each depends on results that have not happened; the J&J contract is real but pays only if PIPE-307 works, and PIPE-307's only completed efficacy trial failed. We value future stock awards at almost nothing because existing options (about 5.5 million at an average price near $9.40) are far above the per-share values below, so cash burn is measured before stock compensation. Cash is assumed to earn about 3.5%, in line with 2025. About $5 million of office lease obligations (the lease liability was $8.3 million at the end of 2025) is assumed to remain in mid-2029 and is deducted. There is no debt, so what the business is worth and what shareholders own are the same. Base case ($0.83 per share): spending averages about $70 million a year from mid-2026 to mid-2029, above today's rate as the IPF trial fills, and the programs produce no credited value. About $42 million would be left in mid-2029, $37 million after lease obligations, worth about $31 million today, or $0.83 per share. Bull case ($1.39 per share): spending rises only modestly, to about $62 million a year from today's roughly $57-59 million, as the IPF trial fills, leaving about $62 million after lease obligations in mid-2029, worth about $52 million today, or $1.39 per share. Bear case ($0.00 per share): the company spends its cash on the schedule it has itself guided, reaching roughly zero by mid-2029, and must raise new money before the IPF readout. Existing holders then have no claim on remaining cash, so the value is about zero; with no debt, the case is not carried below zero. What would make this wrong: a positive PROPEL-IPF readout (expected around 2029) or a positive MOONLIGHT-1 result that triggers J&J milestones would create value none of these cases credit; a decision to stop spending and return cash would lift every case toward the $6.29 per share of cash. On the other side, the active ingredient for PIPE-791 is made by a single contract manufacturer in China (WuXi AppTec), so a supply cut-off or U.S. restrictions on Chinese biotech suppliers could delay the IPF trial and raise costs.

Sales geography
No product sales. Past license revenue (2023) came from Johnson & Johnson's Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, Belgium; any future PIPE-307 royalties would be earned on worldwide sales.

Chart analysis
Price history is limited in our data, so this is a sketch rather than a full chart read. The Class A shares have traded on Nasdaq only since the April 2024 initial public offering, giving roughly two and a half years of history with no long-term base or prior cycle to compare against. A chartist would mark the event-driven nature of the tape: supply was added through an at-the-market program and a follow-on public offering in 2025, and the November 2025 announcement that PIPE-307 missed its efficacy goals in multiple sclerosis is the kind of binary news that typically leaves a gap on a biotech chart. Upcoming catalysts (J&J's MOONLIGHT-1 depression readout and, later, the PROPEL-IPF readout) are likely to produce similar gaps, so a chartist would treat support and resistance levels as weak until the stock trades through one of those events. No specific price levels are cited because reliable price data was not available.
