Brilliant Earth sells engagement rings, wedding bands and fine jewelry, mostly lab-grown and recycled-metal pieces, through its website and 42 showrooms across the United States. Revenue jumped from $252M in 2020 to $440M in 2022 on the pandemic engagement boom and has been flat since ($446M in 2023, $422M in 2024, $437M in 2025, and $215M in the first half of 2026, up 6%). Growth in orders (up 13% in 2025) has been offset by falling prices: average order value dropped 8% in 2025, and the company's own filing warns that lab-grown and natural diamond prices fell during 2025 and that continued price compression could squeeze order values, margins and inventory values. How we measured earnings. We start from operating cash flow, strip out working-capital timing swings, and subtract stock-based pay (a real cost to owners through dilution) and the capital spending needed to maintain the business. On that basis the company earned about $0.34 per share in 2021 and $0.15 in 2022, then -$0.03 in 2023, $0.05 in 2024 and -$0.02 in 2025. Stock compensation of roughly $9-10M a year has consumed nearly all of the cash the showrooms and website throw off. The share count counts every ownership unit in the operating partnership as if exchanged into Class A stock (about 101.7M in total), since the founders' and early investors' units share fully in the business's cash. The anchor. We value the business on 2023-2025, the years since boom-era demand and diamond prices reversed; 2021-2022 describe conditions that no longer exist and are excluded. We also value the operating business separately from its cash: the 2024 and 2025 figures were helped by about $5.8M and $3.7M of interest earned on a large cash pile, and we credit that cash directly instead. Stripped of interest paid and interest earned, the operating business produced -$2.5M, +$3.9M and -$3.5M in 2023, 2024 and 2025; the middle figure of about -$2.5M a year (roughly -$0.02 per share) is the base level. In 2025 earnings fell from +$4.9M to -$2.0M, and the first half of 2026 was slightly worse than the first half of 2025 on the same basis: stock pay did fall by $1.9M, but gross margin slipped from 58.4% to 56.2% and overhead rose, so we assume no improvement in year one. Balance sheet. The company prepaid its remaining $34.8M SVB term loan in August 2025 and terminated its credit facility, so it has no borrowings. It paid a $0.25 per share special dividend in 2025. Cash was $74.9M at June 30, 2026; we treat about $20M as needed to run a seasonal jewelry business and count the remaining $54.9M (about $0.54 per share) as surplus. Leases run through the cash flows already and are not subtracted again. The tax receivable agreement liability was written down to zero in 2025 and would only reappear if the company became consistently profitable. Base case ($0.36). The operating business keeps doing what it has done since 2023: roughly breakeven cash generation that is used up by stock pay, about -$2.5M a year for ten years, worth about -$18M today. Nothing we can evidence keeps a distinct earning power going beyond that, so the story ends there. Business worth about -$18M, no debt, plus $55M surplus cash, gives about $37M, or $0.36 per share. Bear case ($0.11). Diamond price deflation continues as the filing warns and the first-half-2026 margin slippage persists, leaving owner losses around $6M a year for a decade. The business is worth about -$44M, owes nothing, and surplus cash of $55M leaves about $11M, or $0.11 per share. The cash would largely be consumed but the company would not be left owing more than it owns. Bull case ($1.13). The company holds the 2024 level of cash generation before stock pay (about $13.8M, reached after the boom had ended and diamond prices were already falling) while stock pay stays at the lower 2026 run rate of about $5.6M a year, giving about $8.2M of owner earnings for ten years. That is worth about $60M; with no debt and $55M of surplus cash the total is about $115M, or $1.13 per share. We do not credit further showroom expansion, international growth or order growth, because revenue has not grown on a sustained basis since 2022 and falling prices have absorbed volume gains. What would make this wrong. The valuation leans mostly on the cash balance. It is too low if the company can grow orders while diamond prices stabilize, turning its brand and showroom network into durable profits after stock pay; the business has not yet shown that outside the 2020-2022 boom. It is too high if losses accelerate and consume the cash, or if cash is paid out to insiders through distributions rather than kept for shareholders. The margin-of-safety price of $0.16 sits well below the base value because the positive value comes almost entirely from cash that ongoing losses could erode.

Chart analysis
No price history was available for this review, so this view is limited. The Class A shares have traded on Nasdaq since the September 2021 initial public offering; there has been no reverse split disclosed and the company paid a one-time $0.25 special dividend in 2025. A chartist would typically frame a post-IPO consumer name whose revenue peaked in 2022 and has been flat since as being in a long-term downtrend from its listing, and would look for a base forming, higher lows and a break above a prior resistance level before calling a trend change; without actual price data we cannot say whether any such pattern is present.
