Bumble Inc. runs subscription dating apps: the Bumble app (which includes Bumble For Friends) and Badoo, which has operated since 2006. Nearly all revenue comes from subscriptions and in-app purchases. Revenue peaked at $1,071.6 million in 2024, fell to $965.7 million in 2025, and was $422.9 million in the first half of 2026, down 14.6%. In the second quarter of 2026 there were 3.2 million paying users, down 16.4% from a year earlier: 2.1 million on the Bumble app and 1.1 million on Badoo and other apps. Revenue per paying user on the Bumble app was $27.55 a month, up 2.6% from a year earlier but below the $28.27 of the third quarter of 2025. Much of the user decline came from a deliberate 2025 "quality reset" that removed low-intent users and sharply cut marketing, from $261 million in 2024 to $165 million in 2025 and $56 million in the first half of 2026. The decline in quarterly revenue has slowed: $246.2 million in the third quarter of 2025, $224.2 million in the fourth, $212.4 million in the first quarter of 2026, $210.5 million in the second, and company guidance of $205 to $213 million for the third. Earnings power. We measure the cash the business produces for its owners: operating cash flow, less timing swings in working capital, less stock-based pay (treated as a real cost), less the capital spending needed to keep the business running. On that basis owner earnings per share were $0.11 in 2021, $0.19 in 2022, $0.28 in 2023, $1.05 in 2024 and $1.25 in 2025. The jump came from cost cuts, lower marketing and much lower stock-based pay. That lower stock pay overstates the gain. The company says 2024 stock-based pay ($26 million) was reduced mainly by reversing expense on awards cancelled in layoffs. The run rate is now about $41 million a year ($20.3 million in the first half of 2026, double the first half of 2025), and our cases carry that higher cost. Bumble is structured so that some pre-IPO owners hold units exchangeable one-for-one into Class A shares. All per-share figures use Class A shares plus those units, about 153 million. The large write-downs of goodwill and brand value ($892 million in 2024, $1,039 million in 2025 and $169 million in the first half of 2026) are non-cash and do not reduce owner earnings. They do show the brands losing value, and that decline is carried in the declining cash flows in the bear and central cases. We value the business before its lenders, then subtract what it owes. Adding back cash interest, the business produced $225.9 million in 2024 and $234.2 million in 2025, a starting level of about $230 million. Cash flow grew 3.7% in 2025, but we start the central case well below that level for two dated reasons. First, revenue is running about 15% below last year. Second, on its August 2026 call management said margins will return to historical levels in the second half of 2026 as brand marketing and technology spending increase. Its third-quarter profit guidance is about 20% below the second quarter's. On that run rate the business produces about $172 million over the next twelve months. All future cash flows are discounted at 6%. Debt. In March 2026 the company warned it could not repay its old term loans ($588.5 million, due January 2027) from its own resources. That doubt was removed when a new $475 million senior secured term loan from Guggenheim and STORY3 Capital closed on April 24, 2026. The loan costs SOFR plus 8% (roughly 12%) and matures April 24, 2030. It must be repaid at 12.5% of principal a year, rising to 15%, leaving about $225 million due at maturity. It also sweeps part of excess cash flow toward repayment. Borrowing limits require debt of no more than 3.0 times earnings, tightening to 2.0 times by June 30, 2028, and at least $50 million of liquidity. At June 30, 2026 cash was $154.0 million, of which we treat about $104 million as surplus. Because the loan costs about twice our 6% rate, we add $55 to $100 million to the debt, depending on the case, for the extra interest. The tax receivable agreement was ended in November 2025 for $185.7 million, so nothing more is owed under it. Bear case ($2.23 per share). Heavier marketing fails to stop the loss of paying users, which continues at the 16% pace seen through mid-2026. Fixed costs (staff, technology, a multi-year cloud spending commitment) do not shrink as fast as revenue. Cash flow is about $160 million in the first year, falls 20%, 18% and 15% over the next three years, then about 10% a year. By mid-2028 the company would need to use its surplus cash to stay within the tightening debt limit, and it would refinance the 2030 balance at similarly high rates. The business is worth about $812 million and owes about $471 million including the extra interest cost, leaving about $341 million. Base case ($9.30). About $172 million in the first year after the marketing increase. Then declines of 5%, 4% and 3% a year as the 2025 quality reset laps and the slowing quarterly revenue decline persists, continuing to shrink 3% a year after year ten. The business is worth about $1,859 million and owes about $436 million, leaving about $1,423 million. Bull case ($13.92). Bumble's demonstrated ability to raise revenue per paying user largely offsets further user losses, and margins hold closer to recent levels. Cash flow is about $185 million in the first year, falls 2% and 1%, then holds flat through year ten and shrinks 2% a year after that. The business is worth about $2,556 million and owes about $426 million, leaving about $2,130 million. What was left out. No case credits growth. The chat and match-window changes rolling out in August 2026, the new interaction model planned for early 2027, the Plans events app and the renewed brand marketing are all unproven, so none of them adds value here. Every case can pay its interest and scheduled repayments from its own cash flow. What would make this wrong. Users could leave faster than even the bear case assumes, since dating networks can unravel as members leave. Marketing spending could have to stay well above today's level just to hold users. The 12% loan leaves little room if cash flow falls sharply before 2028, when the debt limit tightens. The margin-of-safety price sits far below the central value because the business is shrinking, is expensively financed, and has cut its own outlook repeatedly through large write-downs.

Chart analysis
A chartist would call this a long-term downtrend that has not ended. The shares came public in February 2021 at $43, briefly traded above $80, and have made lower highs and lower lows for more than five years. Over the past year they fell from a 52-week high near $6.34 to about $2.50-2.60, roughly 60% lower, and they now sit at the 52-week low with no sign of a base or reversal. Rallies after earnings have faded. A chartist would want a base to form and a move back above the recent swing highs before calling the downtrend over; until then, the trend would read as still pointing down.
