Balchem makes specialty ingredients in three segments: Human Nutrition and Health (2025 sales of $659M: choline and other nutrients, plus food ingredients), Animal Nutrition and Health ($231M: feed nutrients for cattle and other livestock) and Specialty Products ($141M: performance gases and plant nutrition). Total 2025 sales were $1,037M, up 8.8%, and no customer accounts for more than 10% of sales. In 2025 Human Nutrition sales grew 9.9%, of which 6.6 points came from volume and mix and 2.8 points from price, and its operating earnings rose to $153.9M from $102.4M in 2023. How we measured earnings. We count the cash the business generates after stock-based compensation (a real cost, $18.1M in 2025), after removing swings in receivables, inventory and payables, and after only the capital spending needed to keep the plants running (spending to support growth is treated as optional; the company has averaged about 4.3% of sales on capital spending). On that basis earnings per diluted share rose from $2.29 in 2016 to $3.39 in 2023, $4.26 in 2024 and $5.12 in 2025. Because we value the business first and then subtract what it owes, we add back cash interest ($10.6M in 2025). That gives business cash flow of $4.19 per share in 2023, $4.80 in 2024 and $5.44 in 2025. About $366M of acquisitions in 2022 changed the company, so we look only at the years since. We anchor on the middle of 2024 and 2025, $5.12 per share, and not on 2023, when Human Nutrition earnings were still about a quarter lower. The improved margins are corroborated by every quarter since early 2025 and by the first half of 2026 (net income $84.9M versus $75.3M a year earlier; operating cash flow $86.8M versus $83.7M). Amortization of acquired intangibles ($17.0M in 2025, down from $28.0M in 2023) is a non-cash charge and is added back; because it is added back, we credit no growth from acquisitions. Growth check. Business cash flow per share grew 13.3% in 2025 (owner earnings 20.2%). The base case assumes 5% in year one, below both. Base case: $106.3 per share for the business (about $3.4B). We assume $5.12 grows 5% a year for five years, 4% for the next five, 2% for years 11 to 20, stays flat through year 30, then contributes nothing. Growth credited: price and volume on existing products, which management has delivered repeatedly (across the three segments 2025 volume and mix added roughly 4.6% and price roughly 3.6%, by our weighting of the reported segment figures; business cash flow per share compounded about 9% a year from 2016 to 2025, and we credit little more than half of that pace because part of it came from the 2022 acquisitions and margin gains). Left out: new products, further acquisitions, margin gains beyond 2025 levels, and the European Union's December 2025 final anti-dumping duties of 90.0% to 115.9% on Chinese choline chloride (a complaint Balchem's Italian unit helped file), because the filing does not show what it adds to Balchem's sales. Net debt of about $119M ($3.70 per share) leaves $102.6 per share. Bear case: $55.2 per share for the business (about $1.8B). Human Nutrition margins give back their gains: that segment earned 18.6% of sales in 2023 versus 23.3% in 2025, and Animal Nutrition earnings are volatile ($27.6M in 2023, $14.0M in 2024, $18.7M in 2025). We reset business cash flow to the 2023 level of $4.20, grow it only 2% a year (price alone) for ten years, hold it flat to year 20, then assume nothing. The revolving loan comes due in July 2027; we assume refinancing about two points more expensive for five years, roughly $0.40 per share. After net debt of $3.70 and that $0.40, the case is worth $51.1 per share. Bull case: $142.8 per share for the business (about $4.6B). Starting from the 2025 level of $5.44, Human Nutrition keeps growing volume near its recent 6.6% pace, so business cash flow grows 8% a year for five years (below the 8.8% sales growth of 2025), 6% for five more, 3% for years 11 to 20, and is flat through year 30. After net debt of $3.70, the case is worth $139.1 per share. Debt. At June 30, 2026 Balchem had $152M drawn on its revolving credit facility (down from $190M at the end of 2024), at 4.84% at year-end 2025. The facility matures July 27, 2027, has $386M undrawn and carries leverage and interest-coverage covenants. Business cash flow of roughly $175M a year against $10.6M of interest makes refinancing look routine. Cash was $63.2M; we treat $30M as needed to run the business and net the rest against the loan, giving net debt of $119M. Because the loan costs less than 6% and is short-dated, we make no cost-of-debt adjustment in the base and bull cases. What we tested. The base case leans on the 2025 margin gain holding. Human Nutrition operating earnings rose from $102.4M (2023) to $135.96M (2024) and $153.9M (2025), and first-half 2026 results are ahead of 2025, so the gain is not a single-year spike; the bear case still gives it back. A weak spot is Animal Nutrition and input costs: the filing notes inflation in sourced categories and tariff exposure on imported raw materials. What would make this wrong: a durable fall in Human Nutrition margins, loss of pricing power in choline, or a large debt-funded acquisition. Change since our last look (August 2026): we then estimated $55 / $91 / $165 per share with a $64 margin-of-safety price; we now estimate $51 / $103 / $139 with a $60 margin-of-safety price. The earlier work used net income plus depreciation minus capital spending (estimated for 2023 to 2025), did not charge stock compensation, and discounted at 8% to 9%. This version charges stock compensation, uses reported capital spending, discounts at 6% and limits growth to what the business has demonstrated. That raises the base value and lowers the bull, whose 9% growth and terminal assumptions we no longer credit, and the bear moves down slightly after the refinancing cost. Margin-of-safety price of $60: about 42% below our base value and modestly above the bear value. Margin of safety is set for a stable operating business whose recent margin gains carry the most risk.

Chart analysis
This description is based on the long-run pattern of the company's disclosed results rather than a detailed price series. A chartist would treat Balchem as a steady compounder: earnings per share have risen for most of the past decade, and stocks like that tend to trend upward in stair-steps, with pullbacks that find support near their long-term moving averages. The key technical tests would be whether the shares keep holding above their 200-day average and above prior consolidation highs, which would then act as support. A decisive close below those levels would signal a change of trend.
