Arcutis sells ZORYVE (roflumilast), a topical treatment for plaque psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis, as a cream and a foam, in the United States and in Canada. Net product revenue grew from $59.6 million in 2023 to $196.5 million in 2024 and $376.1 million in 2025, and was $235.3 million in the first half of 2026 versus $147.4 million a year earlier. The company only crossed into profitability recently: it lost $140.0 million in 2024 and $16.1 million in 2025, earned $3.7 million in the first half of 2026 (a $11.3 million loss in the first quarter and a $15.0 million profit in the second). How we measure earnings. We start from operating cash flow, remove the cash absorbed by growing receivables and inventory, and deduct stock compensation as a real cost ($40.4 million in 2025). On that basis the business consumed cash every year from 2020 through 2025, from about $(5.11) per share in 2022 to about $(0.09) per share in 2025. That history describes a company building a launch, not the business as it stands today, so we do not use it as the earnings level. Instead we value the level the business has reached over the most recent four quarters, roughly $30 to $35 million a year (about $0.24 per diluted share on roughly 136 million shares), and treat 2025 as the last year of the loss-making phase. Trailing owner earnings improved by about $128 million from 2024 to 2025 (from a loss of $139.5 million to a loss of $11.9 million); the base case assumes no further growth from that level in year one, which is below that trailing improvement, so no acceleration has to be explained. Base case, about $2.20 per share. Earnings hold at about $0.24 per share for 12 years, through 2037. That period is anchored by patents: the core patents are projected to expire in mid-2037, the method-of-treatment patent for the foam in seborrheic dermatitis in 2041 and the foam patent in 2042. The original composition-of-matter patent for roflumilast itself expired in January 2020, so protection rests entirely on these formulation and use patents. After 2037 we fade earnings to zero over four years as those patents lapse and the foam patents run down. We credit no further revenue growth, margin expansion or new indications: revenue growth in a product still ramping, funded by outside capital rather than its own cash, is not yet a record we can rely on. Bear case, about $0.60 per share. Profitability turns out to be thinner than the last four quarters suggest and earnings settle near $10 million a year (about $0.07 per share), well below the trailing year, and end when the core patents expire in 2037. The company has $100.0 million of term debt due August 1, 2029 secured on substantially all assets, with a covenant requiring minimum net product revenue and an event of default if it is missed, which makes a weak stretch more costly. The company's filing notes that a default could impair its ability to operate its business. Bull case, about $6.60 per share. The approved uses already on the market keep growing and the cost base grows far slower than sales, as it did in 2025 when selling and administrative expenses rose 20% while revenue rose 91%. Earnings rise to about $0.35 per share in year one and climb to about $0.80 per share by year four (the second quarter of 2026 alone earned about $0.11 per share), then hold to 2037 and fade to zero by 2041 on the same patent timeline. What we left out. Growth from ZORYVE label expansions still under review (for example the Canadian submission accepted in February 2026), any pipeline candidate such as ARQ-234, and cash on the balance sheet beyond what already appears in the stream of earnings, since none is a secured, repeatable source of earnings today. Testing the case. We tested the assumption that the recent profit is durable. The first-quarter 2026 loss of $11.3 million shows results can swing by a large amount from one quarter to the next, which is why the base case uses the trailing year rather than the strong second quarter. The value is highly sensitive to whether the roughly $30 to $35 million level holds, and the shares would be worth more than we show if revenue keeps compounding at its recent pace. Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities of $221.3 million at the end of 2025 provide a buffer against the debt in the meantime. The margin-of-safety price of $1.20 is about 45% below the base case, reflecting a product concentrated in one molecule, patent exposure, leverage with a revenue covenant and only a short profit record.
