Astera Labs designs connectivity chips and modules that move data between AI accelerators, CPUs, memory and networking inside data-center racks: Aries PCIe retimers and smart cable modules, Taurus Ethernet modules, Leo CXL memory controllers and Scorpio smart fabric switches, tied together by its COSMOS software. Its customers are a handful of hyperscale cloud operators; two customers each accounted for roughly 20% of 2025 revenue. Amazon holds warrants (a new grant for 3.26 million shares at $142.82 was signed on February 5, 2026) that vest as Amazon and its affiliates make purchases, which is a visible sign of a large customer relationship but not a contract volume we can count. What the numbers show. Revenue rose from $116M (2023) to $396M (2024) to $853M (2025), and the first half of 2026 was $701M, about double the prior-year half. Owner earnings, meaning operating cash flow after removing working-capital swings and after treating stock compensation as a real cost, were negative in 2023 and 2024 (2024 was heavily distorted by roughly $235M of stock compensation triggered by the IPO) and turned to about $211M, or $1.18 per diluted share, in 2025. Growth spending on plant and equipment was separated from maintenance spending, which is small for a chip designer that outsources manufacturing. Our first-half 2026 estimate on the same basis is roughly $1.3 per share for the half-year (about $2.6 annualized), with inventory and receivables building sharply as sales grew. The 2025 figure is the only full year that describes today's business, so it is the stored reference point; two consecutive strong quarters justify valuing the business at a moderately higher earnings level, about $2.0 per share, rather than the 2025 level. We do not extrapolate the growth rate: with only two years of scale and no downturn on record, growth is not something we can call secured. Base case, about $15 per share. Earnings hold at about $2.0 per share for five years, on the strength of the current hyperscaler designs and Scorpio/Aries shipments already under way, then decline about 10% a year over the following ten years as product generations turn over and competitors (Broadcom, Marvell, Rambus, Credo) contest sockets, fading toward zero thereafter. No new-product or market-share growth is credited. Bear case, about $6 per share. Earnings stay near the 2025 level of about $1.2 for two years, then decline about 15% a year as one of the two roughly 20% customers dual-sources or brings connectivity in-house. The concentration is disclosed in the filings; the timing is our assumption. Bull case, about $21 per share. The higher first-half 2026 run rate of about $2.6 per share holds for five years and then fades about 8% a year over ten years, as the design wins and the Amazon relationship continue to translate into shipments. Growth beyond the current level is not credited in any case. What we priced in. Nothing was subtracted for debt (the company is not meaningfully leveraged and interest income on its large cash balance is part of operating cash flow). Stock compensation was deducted in full, which matters greatly here: it was $160M in 2025 and $113M in the first half of 2026. Our valuation would be too low if the business keeps compounding at triple-digit rates without a downturn, and too high if a large customer's next-generation platform goes to another supplier. Some working-capital lines for the first half of 2026 (accrued liabilities) were not available, so the 2026 run-rate is approximate. The margin-of-safety price of $9 sits about 40% below the base case and modestly above the bear case, reflecting a young, customer-concentrated, cyclical-industry business with a short record.
