AbCellera discovers antibody drugs. Since 2014 it has done this for pharmaceutical partners in exchange for research fees, milestone payments and a share of future sales, and as of December 31, 2025 it had started 104 partner programs carrying those downstream rights, at an average royalty rate of 3.3%. Of these, 19 molecules have reached clinical trials. It now also develops its own drugs. Its lead candidate, ABCL635, is an antibody for hot flashes from menopause (Phase 1/2, results expected in the third quarter of 2026), and ABCL575, for atopic dermatitis, reads out in the fourth quarter of 2026. Today the business does not earn a profit. Revenue was $485.4 million in 2022 and fell to $38.0 million in 2023, $28.8 million in 2024 and $75.1 million in 2025. The 2025 figure includes a $36.0 million up-front payment from Bruker, settling a patent dispute, which is recorded as owed to the company at year-end and is a one-time item. After subtracting the working-capital swings, stock compensation and the portion of building costs that reflects maintenance rather than expansion, owner earnings per share were a loss of $0.69 in 2023, a loss of $0.78 in 2024 and a loss of $0.40 in 2025. Strip out the Bruker payment and the 2025 loss is about $155 million, or $0.52 per share. We use that recurring level. The 2023 and 2024 figures are not used as the level because they include heavy spending on the new headquarters and clinical manufacturing facility, which the company says was substantially completed in 2025. Between 2024 and 2025 the loss narrowed by $0.38 per share, but that improvement came mostly from lower building spend and the Bruker payment, so we assume no improvement in the first year and keep the annual loss at about $155 million. How we value it: we count only what is documented. The company held $533.8 million of cash and marketable securities at December 31, 2025 ($128.5 million cash, $405.3 million securities), plus the $36.0 million Bruker payment owed to it, for $569.8 million. It says this funds its plans for at least the next 36 months. We assume it keeps spending for those three years and discount at 6%. What comes after that is worth nothing in our model, because no drug, contract or royalty stream is yet far enough along to name and support with evidence. The filing does not name any partner-developed drug in late-stage trials, the two internal drugs have not yet reported results, and it describes future Bruker royalties without a stated amount. The value is therefore what is left of the cash after three years of spending, spread over about 305.6 million shares. Base case, $0.50 per share: the recurring annual loss of about $155 million for three years costs $415.6 million in today's dollars, leaving $154.2 million. Bear case, $0.20 per share: spending rises about 23% to roughly $191 million a year, the same proportion that the first-half 2026 net loss ($98.6 million) exceeded the first half of 2025 ($80.3 million), and the readouts bring no value. Three years of that costs $510.0 million, leaving $59.8 million. Bull case, $0.81 per share: the company draws down the remainder of its government contribution agreements. In 2023 the Governments of Canada and British Columbia committed up to CAD 300 million, against which CAD 159.0 million of related spending had been incurred through 2025. The remaining CAD 141.0 million is roughly US$104 million, about $35 million a year over three years, which cuts the annual loss to about $121 million. Three years of that costs $322.6 million, leaving $247.2 million. We do not put this in the base case because the filing notes that government contributions received fell in 2025, so the timing is uncertain. What we left out and why: the value of ABCL635, ABCL575, the other internal candidates, and the 104 partner programs, because none has yet shown the human results or approvals that would put a value on them. If the 2026 readouts are strongly positive, or partner drugs reach late-stage trials, this valuation will be too low; we would revise then. We also did not credit the new manufacturing facility with any earnings. What could not be fully reconciled: operating cash outflow in the first half of 2026 was only $7.6 million, against $44.0 million a year earlier, even though the net loss grew. We could not establish the cause from the annual filing and treat it as timing rather than a lower ongoing burn. The balance of marketable securities at June 30, 2026 was not available to us, so the valuation starts from the last audited year-end.
